New Coach 2024 - Suggestions

Hey, I see Nick Hayes plays for Werribee and will be in a forward pocket in the VFL Grand Final vs Gold Coast on Sunday at Ikon Park. The Big W, coached by Barlow, has won their last 17 games to reach the GF.
No, unfortunately, it won’t be Nick Hayes vs James Tsitas as Tsitas (C) will miss the GF through suspension.
Could we see Nick back at the Eagles if Michael Barlow gets the coaching gig?  We can only dream!

If Nick comes back, I think it would be more to do with his girlfriend than Michael Barlow.

According to a idiot on talking footy rumour section Younie new eagles coach wright assistant I’m sure Wright got a job at the crows

I'll bet that the announcement of the new coach will be at the Club Champion celebration on October 7th

I'd expect he would be snapped up by another AFL club, maybe more suited as a defensive coach than a forward coach.

Will be a top coach wherever he goes. I don't know why you say this, but he has runs on the board.

Didn’t like the negative style of football he introduced into the SANFL when at Norwood. Still don’t want him. I’d prefer Younie, but am not necessarily saying there aren’t better applicants.

Anyone hearing any other names that have popped up here? You'd have to think they are well and truly into the interview process by now and starting to narrow down the field

SA footy trying to say Nathan Basset haven’t heard any names other than on here talking footy person said Mathew wright was a shoe in assistant coach I had to put up that crows story saying he’s a development coach at the crows

Apparently the "Eagles" new coach will be announced on Friday.
Let's hope it is.

If it was Younie I think it would have been announced by now.
So by deduction I can only see Thompson, Barlow and a late name in the mix, Jarrad Schoefield, remaining in contention. Who knows though, we all are only guessing and assuming. Keeps us thinking about the Eagles though!

I guess we are all busting to know who the new coach is . So many names or rumours on 2 other footy forums ! Coaches get sacked and their names dropped on those forums saying new eagles coach

You could be right..according to an ex eagles player the 2 standout applicants are barlow and schofield so hopefully its one of them

Barlow would be my choice. Plus, he has the credentials to coach the Eagles having just lost a Grand Final. Ouch

Care to share some of the other names? I'm not across any other forums, so have only seen those listed here.
