His style was so negative. Hated “flooding” when he “perfected” it. It still spoils the game to this day. Nothing worse than seeing 36 players in one quadrant of the oval for long periods.

None of that is correct. Never boring. He also won premierships at Norwood when they were rebuilding. Defensive structure was great.
Some good results at PA as an assistant.

Had a bit of a look over the results of Bassett's 4 years at Norwood in comparison Goddsy's first 4 years with us.

No question they were defensive
They were ranked 1st, 2nd, 1st and 1st
We were 6th, 1st, 4th and 3rd

In terms of attack
They were ranked 5th, 3rd, 2nd and 3rd.
We were 3rd, 5th, 8th and 2nd

Overall In the minor rounds from 2010 - 2013 (20 games per year)
Norwood - Won 61 - Lost 19
Eagles - Won 46 - Lost 34

In 2012 and 2013 they conceded around 52 points per game and scored around 87 per game
In 2011 we conceded around 68 per game and scored around 83 per game.

If he is available and interested, he would tick plenty of boxes for me.

Jimmy Allen is a new one on me . I asked about Jacobs with a big name from the crows when he first came up was told not jacobs

Can't understand Jacobs myself apart from being an ex player. Allen sort of makes sense.

And I’d not put to much into what he said about Allan but he must know something is afoot 
We could’ve signed Thompson for all we know

Couldn't stand Allan as a player especially when he was at the brown paper bags

Allen was a very good player and won a premiership at Norwood under Bassett. Opposition supporters (incl me) didn’t like his cockiness.
Interesting that he came thru Werribee where Michael Barlow coached this year’s losing GF and Nick Hayes played.

I'm pretty confident that our CEO and the panel that has been left responsible to find our new coach would have a bit more of an idea of who our ideal coach will be rather than a pissed off North Adelaide supporter on safooty. A lot of names being thrown up, like everyone, looking forward to the announcement which must be close

I thought Barlow could fit the bill (among others) but hopefully the Selection Committee has chosen a real gem.
