Could be something in that MJ - Norwood have advertised for Coaching personnel within their Centre of Excellence ie Under 16's and 18's.
The longer this exercise goes on the more it proves that we as supporters have no idea who the Coach will be - and I put myself at the top of that list !!
Keeps us all on our toes though and the twists and turns make for interesting reading and conversations.
For it to take this long I reckon our preferred canditate or candidates must have pulled out of the race forcing us to start all over again to some degree.
Could well have been Barlow and if this is the case I'm comfortable with his decision as he obviously had AFL ambitions like Paul Hamilton and Sam Lonergan.
I'm sure that's why we went local with Fuller in 2001 and Sheedy in 2020 - both now premiership coaches as it turned out.

Fullforward or forward pocket with short spells in ruck when ball is in the forward arc for my liking. Is he inked in?

If Sauce is the one, it looks like my post of 22 Aug could have been prophetic.

He is definitely the one, it was announced at 5.30 today.
Gavin Colville will be his senior assistant.

A great challenge for Jacobs. Exciting to see he and Colville back. Good luck to them both.

Who will be the reserves coach? I wouldn't mind seeing Jesse Lonergan be given the role.
He seemed to get on well with fellow team mates and usually provided a lot of on field instruction, especially when playing in the reserves.

Jacobs was one of the first names mentioned and one that seemed to get dismissed pretty early on.
With Colville at his side I believe this is a sound decision and one that has been well thought out.
Great to see Gav back at the Eagles, I was hoping he'd come back home once the therapy from his time at WAFC kicked in.
No doubt a new selection of Assistants will flow through and agree with others that Lonergan would be a great Reserves coach.
Now let's see some positive recruiting news.
I see Toby Murray has been gobbled up by the Crows SANFL so there's one we missed unfortunately.

Any SANFL ready player at Flagstaff Hill or the SFL that Sauce might be able to bring with him? What has Gavin been up to in recent years.

I saw Jacobs interview on 7 on Facebook very good . Seems he did his ACL last year and was in the crows SANFL coaches box with Gods . And he’s undertaken a lot of coaching courses .

I with you re Jesse. Talk about “on field instruction”, in his last game, we heard him yell the F bomb at one of our players who didn’t make good on a pass from him! Didn’t we Mickyj.

Re: New Coach 2024 - Suggestions
Looking forward to having Big Red leading us towards victory in 2024.
Would he be the youngest coach in the SANFL now? Will be interesting to see whether he is able to entice any promising players to the club due to existing links e.g. delisted players from the Crows. He also has strong links to Yorkes so I guess we'll see an influx from that region (although we always do). Does Flagstaff Footy club play in the Southern League? I'm assuming he'd have good intel on players in that competition and not just his own team.
Colville as assistant is interesting. Would he have been one of the applicants for the senior role I wonder? Or did we recruit separately for the assistant role? Would Jacobs have requested Colville's appointment?
I think Colville's presence will be useful for Jacobs given his experience as a senior SANFL coach.
