I have a copy in front of me. Check it out.
Yes, overlooked Herbert.......................but give me a bloody break, I try to give my very best to this site.
I think u need to seriously calm down and it's a forum not a site. Everyone makes mistakes and I'm correcting your mistake so be thankful for once.
Know u do same as myself but it pays to check things before commenting.

Re: Season 2024 trial games
Copied from the eagles FB page
Our Men’s team had a final tune up at West Lakes last night against the Crows, in a 3 quarter hit out.
Kicking into the breeze for 2 of the 3 quarters, and with most senior players being rested, the boys went down by under a kick.
Eyes are now firmly on Round 1 when we take on West Adelaide at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval on Good Friday, 2:30pm.

Re: Season 2024 trial games
Good Summary Wimpy and we appreciate your passion and insightfulness.
Really looking forward to seeing D'Aloia play this year. From what I've seen this year he is going to show the competition what he is capable of and he could well become one of the SANFL's premier midfielders. He could be a Mid Season draft bullshit candidate if his form continues. Beecken also taking his game to the next level and is no longer the scrawny kid that he was in our premiership year of 2021. He's also quite vocal at the breaks and will be a future captain of our great club. Fleeton fitting in nicely and seems to be of good character and he will only get better as he adjusts to life outside of the AFL bubble.
Bring on round 1 so we can get stuck into the 30 Westies supporters that will be there.

Re: Season 2024 trial games
It's great watching the up and comers. Although he lacks pace, Sam Nicholls is a clever, smart player and is not out of place at league level. Beecken and D'Aloia should be aiming to make the State squad/team.
Will Pearce, I am a little concerned about, he needs to lift his game. He is very talented but just needs to produce.
Lukas Cooke is starting to produce, but just needs time. Griffyn Hansen has taken on manfully the huge task he has been given. Can't wait for Friday.

Once again Wimpy a good summary. Giving the kids a start against a good team will help. I hope some of the better seniors are not under done. Do we have a list of injured or not available players anyone?
Hope the App works well.
Unfortunately, I can't be at Fridays match. after surgery I can't drive for 2 weeks.

I think you will find Brinker-Ritchie is possibly gone for the year. Knee not in good shape.
Beattie confirmed with me he will miss twelve weeks.
As I mentioned earlier quite a few will re-appear in the second round. I think they will mainly be in the reserves.

Re: Season 2024 trial games
Jordan Lukac has been cleared to play by the Physio but will wait until round 2 as he hasn’t had much of a pre season. Hopefully his body gets through 2 weeks of solid training.

Seems like DBR is paying the price for carrying the rucks all last year. Sad for a youngster.

Re: Season 2024 trial games
Bad news re DBR and Beattie.
Lets hope we can get some early wins, get the confidence up and get some players back from injury as the season goes on and not lose too many.
Perhaps the late, dry summer and potentially a less rainy winter will fasten up the Woodville Oval track and give us a chance to play some better footy.

Hello "whybother" I think you will find the problem is a little more complicated than wear and tear but not ACL related.

Hello Wimpy. I am not sure that your info is anymore encouraging than I thought. Can you add any more about his problems?

I think it's best that the club makes statements about D. B-R. It's basically not structural, the problem has been identified and treatment is now appropriate, it could just take some time to come good.
I hope the club is looking for a replacement, as much support as possible must be given to sauce in his first year as coach.

Re: Season 2024 trial games
Looks like we've got another crop of youngsters coming up through the Under 18's again this year. Another Burgoyne and some good local lads like Zac Schwarz and Lachie Sands.

This year was always supposed to be a good year for the U18's with eight in the SANFL academy, but with Welsh, Herbert and West unlikely to play for them they won't be as strong as was thought a couple of years ago. They also might be a little shy on height.
But rather than U18 premierships I'd rather get a few of them through to play league for the Eagles. Both Phillipou and Cook have a little history behind them and are both first year U18'. We know Jevan is the son of Sam and young Jack Cook is the son of Tim Cook who played for Centrals the Crows and North Adelaide.
