That sauce is gone any truth in this rumour
Just Genelg tools shit stirring I'd say - "Stampy" is reknown for that.
They are right us being bad though.....but their day is coming as they've got a very mature squad that will all retire around the same time and then we can have some fun back at them

The Eagles will forever cause a pain in the hearts of Glenelg supporters- our 2021 Grandfinal win over them when the almost invincible Tigers (only 1 loss for the season), in their Centenary Year, succumbed to a less talented, Sheedy coached Eagles - no matter the number of times that they beat us in the Future, they can never recover that dreadful (for them) result. So don't get sucked in MickyJ.
I disagree with your prediction, "The Barton" re "Glenelg's old squad'...and our some fun back" etc. Glenelg's U18s finished top and their Seconds finished 3 wins ahead of us and in 3rd place albeit our U18s and Seconds play Glenelg this week and may change positions. Glenelg FC have also have made some astute recruiting decisions in recent times and no reason why they won't continue. And finally, the Sacred Heart College factory in their zone always churn out good local footballers and their Country Zone of the Lower SE with its Football Academy is well set up.

Not bothered what other clubs do well although I'm sure people at our Club look at it. Let's just get it done

Yes, all good points you make here Premiers.
Genelg have certainly picked up the pace in regard to Junior development and, like us, have some good players coming through.
As we are discovering though, strong juniors does not translate to sustained success at league level so, as you say, it needs to be backed up by astute and targeted recruiting. We certainly spoilt their 100th birthday party in 2021 !!

Across the last 6-7 years the Eagles development pathways have seem to develop one of two things 1. Genuine AFL talent 2. Players that are miles off SANFL standard. What our development pathway (particularly from our country regions) hasn't been particularly good at is to create players who are talented at SANFL level but not so good as to be poached by the AFL. Ideally these form the majority of your juniors with the other two categories at the fringes. But for whatever reason we don't seem to have the depth of young kids that we'd ideally like.
D'Aloia and Weckert are probably the two exceptions to this. Beyond them it's pretty threadbare and our success has relied on recruiting players to the club or returning players from AFL.
About ten years ago the SANFL started to chip away at our development zones handing large portions of our promising areas to Glenelg and West. I believe they have done this twice to us during this time. I wonder whether this has had some impact and is finally catching up to us?
