Does anyone know if Nathan Studham will be back with the Eagles in 2024?

If he walked out on the club once then I'd question his attitude irrespective of there being a new coach

Footscray just delisted two more players.
Lachy McNeil wasn't one of them.
Along with two other players, he is still in limbo for next season without a contract offer as yet.

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Another change - Greg Moulton will be assisting the other Jade (Rawlings) at Norwood in 2024 after 4 years with the Eagles. Success seems to follow this guy and I believe his leadership and resilience training helped our back to back flags in some way. Guys like Luke Thompson benefitted from Greg's mentoring but after 4 years his work may have been done. He was involved at Norwood back in the successful Bassett Hound/Rabbit Warren era. Certainly a changing of the guard and a new/fresh start at the Eagles in 2024 as we continue to re build. Nothing is forever.

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Not a recruit but more about a former recruit.........
I see Riley Collier-Dawkins has signed for Williamstown in the VFL for the upcoming 2024 season.

Interesting to read that they describe him as an "explosive midfielder". I saw none of that while playing for Eagles this past season.

Yeh! Looked like he was going to be our Patrick Cripps! Turned out to be more like “all promise but little substance”.

RCD would be Captain of our "Worst ever recruits" team!
Hopefully for himself he's settled back home and gets back to enjoying his footy.

Werribee has gained one of the VFL’s most promising young talls with the signature of Jack Boyd for 2023.
The 21-year-old arrives at Avalon Airport Oval after playing every game for the Northern Bullants over the past two seasons.
Having split his time between attack and the ruck a year ago the 196cm Northern Knights product spent more time as a permanent forward in 2022.
He booted 24 goals this season including a career-best four majors against Carlton in round 10 before rounding out the campaign with an impressive 22-possession game at Werribee.
Werribee football manager Mark Micallef said Boyd’s signing was an exciting coup for the club.
“Jack’s a good athlete with a strong set of hands,” he said.
“We see him mainly as a key forward but he’s also capable of playing in the ruck where he can provide a strong presence around the ball.
“As a forward we think he can establish a really good partnership with Hudson Garoni but we’re also excited by the look of our forward line with the other options we have up there.”

And some sideways good news too. Ch7 report on tonite's news that Power Reserves set to leave after 2024 season. So I presume Crows go too.

Looks a good signing. Didn't think we would sign mark bradtkes son given he was best mates with riley collier dawkins

I’m thinking maybe Hayes had something to do with it he plays for that club or perhaps Luke JarredMichaelScott wrote:Mickyj wrote:Sheedsb2b wrote:Jack boyd signed with eagles 196cm

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Well that's KPI #1 with a tick next to it.
Good work Eagles in being proactive and going after him.
He doesn't have to be a superstar like Jack Hayes (although that would be nice!). Just someone who can be competitive, be a target for the midfielders to kick long to and be dangerous and skilled enough to take a few marks a game.
He's in right age category and with a bit of VFL experience under his belt so he could be primed to have an impact
Next step - lets sign our key defender!

Good riddance to the Magpies. Glad to see them go. The competition will flourish. Nothing against the Crows Reserves but please follow the other mob.
Like the look of Jack Boyd. Young, strong, fills a real hole and has some experience. Hope he can work as a dangerous combo with Connor Ballenden.
Today’s posts bring great news.

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Perhaps that "key defender", Titan, might be Kaelen Bradtke who can play both ends of the ground. MIght be handy to cover us when/if we lose one of them in Preseason/midseason AFL drafts. We want them good but not too good. Recruiting 25 yearold is safer than 22yr olds re keeping them further from AFL interest.

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Congratulations to Eagles recruiting staff on getting Jack Boyd - true to their talk of signing some quality "talls" (or at least one to start). Expecting that he will do more than the "Mark of the Year" shown in his highlights reel - I recall that Cameron won NEAFL "Mark of the Year", plus twice NEAFL "Team of the Year" CHF/FF and never reached anything like that standard at the Eagles. So we'll wait in earnest to see his form in the trials. But, hey, certainly optimism to jump on board and renew our membership.
After we secure a CHB, I do think we need a tall ruckman. If Brinker-Williams goes down with injury and we need to draw Ballenden (who we've learnt offers little as a ruckman) or Jack Boyd, (who at 196cm, is going to be too short for centre bounce contests) away from the forward lines, then our forward line again will only have the one tall like last season. IMHO, Jordan Lukac still has a lot of work to do (what better teacher than Sam Jacobs) to reach an acceptable SANFL ruckman/forward status but is capable of getting there (2026).
I think the consensus of this site's posters is that for next season we would like more information (league coaches match reports, pre-season trial/training reports) than we had last season. Communication from CEO David Couzner has been excellent. We all should individually send a letter off to David, congratulating him and request that he asks the league coaching staff to participate.

Good bye power and crows
If power and crows leave Sanfl they can use all their team in the reserves. Does that mean all the fill up players that play now will be available for grabs. Maybe when they announce it we should start talking to some of the better players
