THE 2022 SEASON - Page 4 Empty Re: THE 2022 SEASON

Post by hawke Mon Feb 21, 2022 9:57 pm

Recruiting officer from St Kilda James Gallagher says Jack Hayes hasn't been signed yet as St Kilda also consider Lienert and Naish over the next 2 weeks. With Coffield injured, St Kilda will likely have 3 spots available and it's been said that St Kilda are committed to taking Jack - possibly leaving it to the last day in case Jack goes down with injury in next 2 weeks. Anyway before we Eagles fans get a slight glimmer of hope, West Coast Eagles are reported to also be interested in Jack Hayes now that Darling has copped an injury.

President Christine Williams told me that as the SANFL are controlling the Digital passes there is no discount for members. Going on this advice I have paid my $89 to access the service. But I note others have said on SAFooty that it has been included in their memberships

Match simulation over half the field tonight . Max Litster performed very well, a standout with clean skills. Our goal scoring looks totally dependent on the Menzels at this stage - like to see other contributors emerging. Is Conor Ballenden capable of imposing himself on the contest?

Zane Williams would be the most natural in front of goal out of the rest I’d imagine? Maybe Goldsworthy. Maybe Redden to spend a bit of time up forward than he has the last couple of years if nothing else is working and we need a get out of jail kick long option.

Some firepower we’ve lost from the last couple of years: Hayes brothers, VB, Stengle, Rowe and Foote as a goal kicking mid. That’s a handy forward 6!

Aerie, you forgot Angus Poole from that list.
Respectfully disagree with you on two other points - IMHO, Zane Williams has much more work to do before claiming that title. Also the days of Jarrad Redden playing forward have long gone with his restricted movement making it difficult to get under the "long bombs" and then the full back running off him - arguably the best tap ruckman in SANFL though.

Eagles one of many SANFL and VFL clubs trying to sign delisted Essendon player Dylan Clarke. Was a train on with the Bombers but not picked up. Plenty of cap space now Tsitas and J. Hayes are gone. Clarke is a hard nut mid.

He would be a perfect Tsitas replacement. The Hayes replacement will not be so easy . Pity we did not try to get Freeman.

Eagles should put Kobe Mutch to work, convincing his former Essendon teammate that the Eagles are the best fit - maybe, we can't offer the money/job that Norwood can but I understand Mansell turned away from the better Norwood offer to come to a more enjoyable environment at the Eagles. At 187cm, age 24yrs, hard running midfielder, he seems a good fit for a serious deficiency in the Eagles make-up.
Any news on Connor Ballenden's injury (Xrays of suspected fractured jaw) ? Unfortunate that his strong attack on the ball in the air resulted in the injury but good to know that his obvious mobility and kicking skills are complemented by his hard attack on the ball (didn't see this previously in Darwin or at training).

Ballenden for Hayes, Clarke for Tsitas would be as good a "swap" as we could hope. How much do we throw at Clarke?

Always made to feel welcome at Alberton - not.
Third world conditions for the Eagles - no running water and skid marked portable toilets whilst the professionals enjoyed their air conditioned Taj Mahal.
Tip - don't wear white pants when sitting in the stands that are covered in Magpie shit. I hate that place with a passion. We should turn the hot water off when they play at our place. Stuff 'em.

I think it is McFarlane you mean not Mansell. Norwood tried to throw a lot of money at McFarlane to get him to the Parade but he said he had committed to the Eagles and wanted to play with his mate Tsitas.

The situation at Alberton on Saturday was a bloody disgrace. Had to manoeuvre between dust, bird shit and the marquee (for changing) blocking the view, the magpies never ever make it comfortable for their opponents.

I wonder if our management has sent a formal complaint into the SANFL and PA. In 2022 that seems unacceptable.

Does anyone know when the player photos start appearing on our website. Most other clubs already have them up.
