I noticed Trent Burgoyne in the PA team. Are they allowed to play delisted AFL players ?

Don't won't him. The family is difficult to deal with, just trouble. Rather have a youngster who wants to play for the Eagles. Typical port adelaide crap. Just a reminder, rules are not made for port adelaide. I would think our club has negotiated with the magpies for him to play there. Also josh and family let our club and U18's down in a big way in last years U18 Grand Final.

Most Eagles players having their good moments. Fierce trial. Port clearly superior overhead with too many bombs into our forwards altho Jack Firns and Troy Menzel working hard. Allmond' s good kicking in traffic

Is the game still over 6 periods. Loosing the aerial battles is a worry. Are we bombing the ball in.

end of 3rd. Eagles kicked 3 to Port's1.
No small forward has emerged yet. Williams has kicked 2, one a free kick, other receiving in open and appears Sheed's choice having been on most of game. Backline good as expected. Lukac had a chance to kick 2 goals on run, missed both but windy conditions. In general, no surprises yet.
Ballenden hasn't come back. - looks like it might be concussion, didn't move for 15 secs. Rowland, Sinor,
Mutch our onballers with the other 3 undecided. Pudney in there at times. MacFarlane getting a lot of disposals and thankfully is looking to pass off (rather than trying to run off everything and into trouble like he did last year).

Playing a lot of youngsters that 6th. Ryan Williams,Nathan Barkla, Cormack O'Reilly, Phillipou, Phillips tucking, Sam Michael FBack. None of them look league selection this year.

Eagles have 43 players listed and giving each a decent go. Port have 26. So as expected, Port are clearly superior in the last 3 sixth.

So missing today were Redden, Dan Menzel, Ballenden (only on ground for 60 secs, upright that is), Goldsworthy, Knight, Toumpas, Cameron, Comitogiannis and Thompson.

We won 73 to 70 over 6 periods. Always good to win and trailing so any was better.

I thought it was appropriate to split in to two games:
League:

Reserves:

It was difficult to assess the second game as magpies left on their better players from the first game a lot longer than we did.

In the first game we played a good team game with no one really standing out. We played on as much as possible and seemed to have increased the intensity of our running game. It was noticable we were clearly out numbered in the height department. No Redden, Thompson, Cameron (and Ballenden after first 10 minutes).
Goals: T. Menzel 2, Z. Williams 2, Mutch, Firns, Sinor and Nicholls 1 each.

Kobe Mutch is starting to really show his best, could be a dominating player this season.
Troy Menzel moved well and looks a lot fitter than last year.
Nicholls did a few clever things, Firns will be very important up forward, Lehmann was quite good and Litster and Duval took some nice marks across halfback.
Allmond did most of the kicking in after behinds.

Missing: Goldsworthy, Thompson, Toumpas, Redden, Knight, Comma, Lonegan, Cameron and D. Menzel.

First contested ball Ballenden went for, he got cleaned up and went to have scans on his jaw.
