Like every year the AFL draft in November is key. With salary caps that are restrictive I think we will be very selective.
I’m just wondering since south and west have announced recruits
And the one I’m posting about it was apparently on the radio he’s coming to us on Monday night .
Supposedly this guy is a friend of Hardie along with two other players from west not sure if they will head our way either
Person who told me Mitch Hardie is now saying it’s a different eagles player lol

I'm hoping your info is confused re Hardie's mate from West coming to the Eagles is instead ANGUS BAKER, Hardie's mate from Canberra Demons coming to Eagles. Baker won medal for best ACT player. Just wishful thinking with no substance.

Re: Eagles Recruiting for 2022
Would expect a few older or experienced Seconds players will have to be moved on to accommodate the 6- 7 best of this year's U18s. U18s Premiership team appeared to be a very even talented team unlike the previous years when have been 5-6 standouts with the rest following - might be lucky and lose only 2 to the Draft from U18s Premiership team - Lukac and Cooke (Burgoyne of course missed the Premiership).

I glad you said "resigned with and NOT resigned from, re-signed although some afl clubs might fancy him as a rookie, if it was power or Crows he could play AGAINST us. Would depend on whether or not Jack as actually nominated for the draftMickyj wrote:SANFL just announced Jack Hayes resigned with the eagles so he’s staying

MickyJ,
Use the spelling "re-signed" instead of "resigned" so we don't get heart palpitations before reading further. Hell of a difference in meaning.

Re: Eagles Recruiting for 2022
I believe the Eagles are interviewing Connor Ballenden from Brisbane Lions (199cm forward/ruckman) but so are the other seven SANFL clubs as well as other states.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Eagles Recruiting for 2022
One might think that South would have had an advantage re his signing with Sam Skinner being his teammate in 2020 at Brisbane Bears Seconds team. However, perhaps that advantage is now lost with Sam Skinner being signed by Port Power.wimpy wrote:I believe the Eagles are interviewing Connor Ballenden from Brisbane Lions (199cm forward/ruckman) but so are the other seven SANFL clubs as well as other states.

Connor Ballenden highlights reel suggest he will be a massive pickup for some club. Can dream of the asset to the Eagles, releasing the close-checking pressure off Dan Menzel. Like having Liam McBean playing for you (perhaps not the polished forward that McBean is, but still a dangerous forward and also doubles as a better ruckman than McBean). Where has it been suggested that he is coming to SANFL?

Does anyone know if Connor Ballenden was from the VFL before going to Brisbane. And would he have any contact with any of our Current players who played in the VFL ?
In case that sounds like I’m having a bad day again I’ve been told something I can’t mention

Re: Eagles Recruiting for 2022
From Lions Website
Connor Ballenden goes way back with the Brisbane Lions, having been part of the Club since his Under 12 days with the Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy. In his draft year, 2017, the Brisbane local played in the NEAFL Premiership team who defeated the Sydney Swans at the SCG. He was also a member of the undefeated 2019 NEAFL Premiership side. Ballenden played most of his junior career in the forward line but over the last season has been experimenting in the backline and ruck.

Not "may" , "will". Same applies to Ellis-Yolmen. Suggests that we may have a chance for 2 good "recruits" butbutl in 2023.goddy11 wrote:Jacob Wehr delisted by GWS. They may rookie him though.
