Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
AFL clubs have received the final list of nominations for the national draft – and there are more than 1000 players hopeful of finding a home on December 5.
More than 100 of those nominations have come locally including an AFL development coach and players from the SANFL as well those from suburban and country clubs.
AFL Premiership player Tyson Goldsack, who was meant to captain Port Adelaide’s SANFL team in 2020 but ended up in a coaching role with the Power, is one of the more high-profile players to have nominated for the draft.
Adelaide Footy League player Lachlan Brown (Eastern Park) is one of the lesser known names to formally nominate.
Former No 1 pick Patrick McCartin, who has been linked with a move to Sydney, is among a long list of former listed players among the 1018 nominations.
Others include Wylie Buzza (Port Adelaide), Ben Crocker (Adelaide), Lachie Hosie (North Melbourne), Michael Knoll (Sydney Swans), and Myles Poholke (Adelaide).

Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
Hardie and Cameron probably haven't played a under 18's match for us unless I'm wrong unless they're college people

Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
Mitch Hardie NSW 24 years and Clay Cameron 26 years Redlands NEAFL are of course our new recruits, hence listed under the Eagles banner. Would expect age would preclude them being drafted.

Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
Brownlie only played a few games this season if not less than a few games then he got injured then never came back to play under 18's and coach said he won't get overaged 18's next season when asking about him

Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
Eagles hit hard in the AFL Draft, but fantastic for the players and another big tick for the development area of the club.
From the league side: Jones to Port, Rowe to Crows and Wehr to GWS.
From the juniors: Caleb Poulter to Collingwood and Henry Smith to Brisbane.
The Rookie draft still to come.

Got smashed in the draft. Lost Jones, Poulter, Rowe, Henry Smith and Wehr.
Also losing N. Hayes, Foote and Lowson. No wonder we've been out recruiting.

Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
It's going to be tough watching James Rowe (Adelaide Crows) carving up his Eagles team. Mansell, his likely opponent, at least has first hand knowledge. Hope AFL allow us to keep McNeil and Mansell.
We always knew we would lose Jones and Wehr. Recruited Rhys Mutch

(continuing)......... and Rowland will cover the HB flanks. But hoped we would keep Rowe. We might go taller in his forward pocket by covering with Mitch Hardie or one of the Menzels. Not "doom and gloom" due to good recruiting and anticipation.

Management have been very proactive. They must have had more than a clue that a few will depart. Happy for our guys drafted. Shows how strong a club we are. Looking forward to see the young Burgoyne and maybe a couple of B graders come in. Mead, Williams. I liked the looks of Asfaha, Tristian Carcuro,Pudney. Pity Jamie Coff couldn't wait around.

Is there any update on Petrenko?
Think we have the quality in the squad but may be lacking leg speed

My previous info was a week off. Meets next week with the club. Would be very handy after the recent decimation.

Re: WHAT DOES 2021 HOLD FOR THE EAGLES?
Depending on the quality of the recruits the Eagles can still put out a balanced and competitive team. My early rough attempt:
FF: Poole Sharman Cameron
HF: Z. Williams J. Hayes Hardie
C: K. Mutch Tsitsas T. Menzell
HB: G'worthy Thompson Mansell
FB: Rowland Mills von Bertouch
Ruck: ..............Toumpas............Seymour.........Giuffreda........Hall
Redden.............Lonergan...........Haylock...........R. Mutch........Firns
Sinor................D. Menzell..........Comma...........Lee
Knight..............Jungfer...............Pudney...........Mead

Same here. Won 2 GF's. Never stopped after GF. Took the cup on a road trip. Recruiting was there from the get-go. In a Covid year its remarkable.wimpy wrote:Mickyj wrote:wimpy wrote:Ten out, nine in, who were going over the top with all their recruiting!!!!!
