willits is being rumoured on safooty ?

I read the same thing on SA Footy about Willits however we have already signed
Kirk, Ainger, Borholm & Mckenzie all talls with both Kirk & Borholm able to play in the ruck.
Secondly I have heard we paid a Bucket load for Ainger

We have lost, Cica, Greiger, Shirley, Eddy & Mckenzie and gained

Kirk, Almond, Jaquier, Harding, Dawson, Ainger, Carey, Mckenzie & Borholm

I think we are looking for Midfielders therefore Im thinking Birss maybe the rumoured player considering what was written on
SA footy. Mind you we are in the silly season

I think Zac Fitzgerald (191 cms) must be in the 21 at all times. A very heady footballer. Very highly rated by Trent Hentschel. Can play either forward or back. Is an excellent shot for goal. Doesn't do pre-seasons as he works on the family farm over on Eyre Peninsular, this year has committed to do the pre-season.
The club desperately needs a first class onballer.
With 3 to 4 players being drafted plus those already gone depth could be a big problem.
Angus Poole must be given time to develop.

Agree Fitzgerald, provided he puts in the work, would be good to see him start up forward in 2013. He seems to have the class and should be ready to make an impact at league level. Not sure how you fit him, Grocke, Staple and Ainger all in the forward line though. Not a bad problem to have though.

Would hope Poole would have an opportunity as well given his consistency at Reserves level. Batley is another who I was expecting to come on this year, but not sure he even played a league game. Hopefully he has a big pre-season and can develop in to a league footballer in 2013. I think he had trouble with injuries in 2012.

Any chance Schwarz or Appleton could get a taste of league in 2013 if they don't get drafted? Godden doesn't seem to bring them on at a real young age like Fuller did - which is not necessarily a bad thing - but both look to have promising futures.

It is good that we've assured up the ruck a little for 2013 with Kirk and Borholm. Still very reliant on Parry to be available for as many games as possible though. Another class midfielder or two would cap off recruiting nicely.

Look forward to see how Culley progresses. Thought he was excellent in the Elim Final and would hope he takes over the position of Full Back long term. Summerton and Heinjus are other good sized players who will hopefully push through and add depth.

A massive loss of experience in McKenzie, Cica, Grieger, Shirley and Knights should realistically have our expectations lowered for 2013. Macca and Cica in particular you just can't replace, but hopefully we can win a few early games and improve as the season progresses. A real change of the guard in 2013 and we'll need a new lot of players to put their hand up when the game is on the line as Rowntree did this year and not just rely on Powell and Jarrad.

I was hoping that Batley would have made a little impact in 2012, has pace and can run through the lines but unfortunately groin/O.P. ended his season quite early.

Think he retired at end of 2011 and played WAFL this year at Claremont where he kicked 4 or 5 in the GF. Remember hearing him interviewed on AA at the end of last season and he said he was happy over there and had no plans, at that stage to come home to Adelaide.

Just hope the midfielder has pace ....... besides a 75 metre kick! a ball magnet! Seriously, this next choice recruit (midfielder), (hopefully 2 midfielders), will make or break our 2013 season.

I'm guessing the Club might even announce it late to ensure their chosen player/players are lavailable after the draft.

(Wouldn't mind having Sutcliffe back from Fremantle and Growden back from GWS but that aint going to happen because their clubs seem happy with their development so far)

From what I've heard I don't think it will be us.

Are we "road-testing" Scott Blessing, try before we buy or have we signed him. With due respect, I hope he is not the "high quality" midfielder that we're after.

Are we really after a "high quality" midfielder?? It's just been rumour after rumour, I am starting to think it won't happen.
Very disappointed if we don't sign at least one tough nut, our midfield lacks depth and I doubt we would improve much on this year. Just look at the depth of Nwds midfield last yr.

Generally a lot of rumours this time of year. Confident the club has its recruiting 'targets' and we will just have to wait to see what happens after the draft.

At the moment Eagles and W. A. disagree on what Blesing is worth. If reports are correct about W. A,'s financial situation I would expect them to take any amount offerred in the end because Blesing AIN"T GUNNA play for them.

My understanding is that recruiting has finished, but something might crop up!

According to Holden, Stephen Tiller is returning to the Eagles in 2013.

If true, hope that he stays for the year.
