Thanx Eagle014.
My understanding is that 'Junior' has NOT signed with the Eagles (as yet), but a mutual decision will be made around Xmas time re; his future at the club.

Yes, that's what happened last year with a couple of 'invitees'. Gods makes a decision at end of this year on whether they will be ask back for start of preseason 2011.Flash wrote:Thanx Eagle014.

As far as I know the last training night for this year is Wednesday 22/12 & return on Monday Jan 10th.
We will keep our fingers crossed.

Re: Rumored ins and outs 2011
Zest,
Don't think they'll persevere with Jarrad Wright. Must be 28 plus, can't seem to string 3 games together before injury and partly as a result looks very slow and no aerobic ability. Sad, because he's still got the footy smarts and the Eagles never saw the class that he had. No logic in keeping him on our list to the detriment of a youngster.
Yes to C Grocke because we look a little thin if anything happens to A Grocke. Wouldn't be surprised if Parry spends a little time resting up forward with Godden sounding a little excited with the unexpected acquisition of Bock.
Reckon Dawson and Hill are at the crossroads - both have failed to realise their potential - athletic types, smooth movers but can't stay in the play for long. Sadly for the skilful Craig Fitzgerald, he can only play the specialist small forward pocket role, too slow for up the field and this will always limit his selection - good for a cameo performance of 3 goals once every 4 games but can't shake a close checker. Hang on to his brother, though!
Godden (5RPH) was saying that hanging on to Miles would slow the development(even lose) some young defenders in the Seconds - guessing he was referring to Todd Culley who looks ready to play league if any thing happens to Luke Thompson or Tiller.
On the subject of Petrenko, unless he improves a huge amount, I disagree with you, Zest - I think we'll see a lot of him. Great closing speed, great tackler but poor foot skills and poor decision maker. Our "regular back pocket" Symmons would be very unlucky to be ousted by him only because he gets first "crack" being a Crow.
But Geez, isn't it exciting at this time of the year! Love it! Better than when the season starts. Very, very unlikely but imagine how good we'd be if our St Nick (Salter) tweaked his usual calf and spent 5 games coming back through the SANFL.

Re: Rumored ins and outs 2011
i think Petrenko will play mostly with us as well just round 1 i think he will be with the crows as for wright if he passes the December cut off, he will play reserves, round one if fit as will c Fitzgerald
as for Dawson the hope is training with the club and not being told what to do by the power will make it easier for him to settle in to a role and gel with the game plan.
i think salter will play games with us more often than not if port play him as the loose man in defence i cant see him lasting a season
C Grocke adds depth to what was last year the weakest part of the team as he can also play CHB with Culley, Thompson and tiller
The key for next year is finding some consistency and not dropping off in form of the young guys like Goldsworthy, Lane, Allmond and Rowntree
While some of the young guys stepping up to the plate from the U18'S to help the reserves out. As well as Goss putting pressure on the reserves ruckman to stop them from complacency

give me a preimership any day of the week
if we were in it in 2006 what win would you take i would take the SANFL grand final, dont mess around if we are not focused on the ultimate goal we might as well be south and waste time on the bottom of the ladder

No I don't especially now seeing that the top 5 Clubs in the SANFL have said no. Just left for the bottom feeders of the SANFL competition - like your team, South Adelaide!

You mentioned that Tom Holmes ex Glenelg rover from Mt Gambier was joining North - haven't seen his name on North's list. Do you know any more? Suspect Glenelg may have listed him to block his move.
Looks like our Power rookie pick-up Jarrad Irons could be a very useful player for us.
Bad luck about Aaron Kite especially with a stress fracture that will limit his running. Hopefully, round 9 means he's fit and ready to go in Round 9 - not, only able to train fully at Rd 9 taking another 4 weeks in the Seconds to build up match fitness.
Wish Port Power good luck with their injury run - if Hamish Bartlett and their young boom recruit Jacob (presently Glandular Fever) stay fit along with Pettigrew, the Eagles may see a lot more of Salter, Broadbent and Paul Stewart than they expected.
A very good list, better placed than last year- Godden over-achieved with what he had last year but expectations will be high among supporters this year - anything less than a Grand Final will be a "Fail".

Premiers, just letting you know you won't get an answer from Mickyj for a week or so. He has just moved & was telling us at training tonight that he's off the air until the 22nd.Premiers wrote:Mickyj

One of our other mates did mention tonight that he was impressed with Irons & thought we would see a lot of Salter this year, time will tell.
