Re: Confirmed ins and outs for 2011 only
Email from the club hentschel stays and cheep retires
The Club is delighted to advise that after significant consultation with his doctors, Trent Hentschel has made the decision to play for the Eagles in season 2011.
On his decision Trent said "I really enjoyed the environment at the Eagles whilst playing at the Club toward the end of last season and would like to be a part of it in 2011. Obviously I have to manage my body throughout the season and will do so with the medical, fitness and coaching staff at the Club. Ultimately though, I am looking forward to playing some good football and being part of a successful Eagles Football Club"
On Trent's decision, coach Michael Godden said "I am thrilled that Trent has made the decision to continue to play in 2011, he offers so much to our group from a leadership perspective and is such a calming influence that when he plays we look like a better team - as such, we will take him for as many matches as we can squeeze from him".
Unfortunately though the Club has to temper our news on Trent Hentschel with the retirement from SANFL football of Jay Cheep.
Jay joined the Club from VFL Club Geelong at the start of the 2009 and played 27 League games, kicking 34 goals and leaves the Club after playing some of his best Football in this year's SANFL Finals Series.
On his decision to return home to Victoria Jay said "I have enjoyed my two seasons at the Eagles and would like to thank all involved at the Club for the support they have shown me during my time here. I am sure I have made some lifelong friends whilst here and wish the playing group all the best for the 2011 campaign and beyond. I have no doubt that as a Club we are on the right track and would like to specifically thank Michael Godden for his support throughout my decision making process - it is just time for me to go home and start the rest of my life with my family in Melbourne.

Re: Confirmed ins and outs for 2011 only
Eagles email Kite is an in for us along with some re- signings
The WWTFC is delighted to announce the signing of Aaron Kite for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Aaron was drafted from the Calder Cannons by the Adelaide Crows with pick 71 in the 2007 AFL draft and was subsequently taken in the SANFL mini draft by the Norwood Football Club. He played 23 SANFL League matches in the two years in which he was on the Crows list.
After being de-listed at the end of the 2009 season, Aaron completed the pre-season with Carlton before playing for Glenroy in the Essendon Football League in 2010 where he kicked 96 goals playing on the Half Forward line.
On Aaron Kite’s signing Michael Godden said “We are pleased to have secured Aaron for the next two seasons upon his return to the SANFL competition. We believe that he will inject significant pace and versatility to our group and will be a key asset in our push up the ladder in 2011”.
Please join us in welcoming Aaron to the Club.
The WWTFC is also pleased to advise members that Adam Grocke, Angus Rowntree and Nathan Rayner have all recently signed 2 year contracts with the Eagles taking them through to the end of the 2012 season.
Eagles CEO Chris Davies said “Obviously we are delighted to secure Adam Grocke for the next two years; he had a fantastic 2010, has become a big part of the Club’s planning for the future and has shown time and time again his commitment to the Eagles”.
“Along with Adam, to have secured Angus Rowntree and Nathan Rayner for the next two seasons, two players which the Club has high hopes for, is really encouraging and I am sure our members will be pleased with their respective signings”.

Re: Confirmed ins and outs for 2011 only
The WWTFC is thrilled to announce the signings of Chris Hall and Phil Raymond for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
Chris Hall
Chris returns to the Club after being de-listed by the Fremantle Dockers at the end of the 2010 season. He was drafted to Fremantle with pick 77 in the 2008 AFL draft.
Senior Coach Michael Godden said “It was unfortunate for Chris that some injuries at times when he was close to playing AFL Football hindered his opportunity at that level, however we are pleased that he has committed to us should he not be re-drafted into the AFL system in the upcoming AFL drafts.
“He played some fantastic WAFL Football and provides our group with some pace through the midfield and the ability to go forward and kick a goal”.
Phil Raymond
Phil was drafted by St Kilda from the Glenelg Football Club with pick 63 in the 2005 AFL draft. After being de-listed at the end of the 2007 season, Phil stayed in Melbourne playing for St Kilda City in the VAFA before returning to the VFL with Port Melbourne.
Initially playing as a forward, he moved onto the half back line with Port Melbourne, winning their ‘Most Consistent Player’ award at their recent Club Champion night.
On the signing, Michael Godden said “The three things that caught our eye with Phil were his ball finding ability, his pace and skills on both sides of his body”.
“With the likelihood of some of our more experienced players retiring over the next few years, Phil also fits the age profile of player that we need to bring into the Club”.
Please join with us in welcoming both players to the team!

Re: Confirmed ins and outs for 2011 only
coaching staff now
Dear Michael,
The Woodville West Torrens Football Club can confirm that 2010 Assistant Coach, Bob Cross, will coach the Reserves team in 2011. Bob replaces Craig Smith in this role.
Bob has a coaching background spanning 33 years, the majority of which has been spent at the Woodville South Football Club who he led to 4 premierships during his tenure in charge.
He has had the honour of being named coach of the All Australian Amateur team on 3 occassions, including 2 tours of Ireland as well as being named coach of the SA Amateur team on 9 occassions.
On the appointment, Senior Coach Michael Godden said “I am really pleased that Bob has accepted the role of Reserves Coach here at the Eagles. His input was fantastic as an Assistant last year and I really believe that he will facilitate an environment that will help our players make the transition from the Reserves to League team in a seamless manner”.
Bob will commence in the role on Monday, November 15 when the Club starts pre-season at Thebarton Oval – 6pm.
Please join us in congratulating Bob on the appointment and thanking Craig for his time at the Club.
Don’t forget our Members draw at the Club 7:30pm this Thursday night - $425 should your member number be drawn on the night and you are present at the Club. So, come along and enjoy a meal and drinks with your fellow Eagles members!

Re: Confirmed ins and outs for 2011 only
From 5RPH tonight, Godden confirmed Christian Bock has returned to the Eagles.
? whether he'll be 4th-5th in ruckman pecking order behind Parry, Redden, Hoban and maybe Miles

Smith is still on the Eagles list, it's just how often we will have him, it's just like every other Eagle on the Crows and Power list.

Re: Confirmed ins and outs for 2011 only
Godden reported on 5RPH on Thurs night that the Eagles had completed their recruiting for the season - he said Christian Bock "fell" into their lap - they didn't have to chase him.
He didn't say anything about Stephen Tiller so perhaps the SAfooty.net comment was incorrect.

Yeah i heard that too but i suppose completed recruiting dosen't mean that all recruits had been announced yet. Have to wait and see i suppose but we defintely need a centre half back and i get the feeling that the club is expecting at least 1 key player to go in the rookie draft.
