Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Reddo wasn't there on Saturday night as he just became a Father for a second time.
Jack Boyd had back surgery soon after signing with the Eagles. He's hoping to be ready to go early in the main season but time will tell. No Will Pearce either, I believe he's got a minor injury at the moment.

Does anyone know how long Tillbrook will be out for?? I've been told it's a bad injury. And wasn't aware of the new baby. Is that the same situation as Dane as he wasn't there eitherThe Barton wrote:Reddo wasn't there on Saturday night as he just became a Father for a second time.

Quite possibly 35. Our players are a very fertile lot.

Isaac McGrath is a very chatty person. He's 21 so he goes to or went to Aquinas college. I was talking to someone about him yesterday as he mentioned that he knows someone in the country so the person's mother is going to see if he's the same person she's met and ask her son if he still goes to college with him there or not. I'll report back to him when i see him next. The boys told me before i met him that he's chatty.

How many people on here was aware that Tom Luck was carrying a knee injury and that's why he played up forward to try to rest it. Not sure how bad such and such was telling me last season.

Chatting to him, I learnt that Jarrad is very accepting of standing aside for the younger ruckmen when they have rehabilitated, are fit and firing. He will then play country football to stay fit and also be ready to again be a fill-in.
But he's keen and very much enjoying training - he jokingly suggested "They could always play me up forward !!"
There was no joke about it when he played FF in the 2s a few seasons ago. Very accurate kick!
BTW no Blake Renet. Is he injured or not up to standard?
Capogreco, Menta, Hann all injured, also, Oscar Pearce who has now injured his other foot will be out for awhile.

Thank you for info had only known Tillbrook, but I don't know when he's back playing. As Capogreco told me on Saturday night he had hurt his hand when asking after himwimpy wrote:35Eagles wrote:He wasn't there on Saturday night, Tillbrook has wrist injury, no Capogreco, no Menta no Bailey Hann in the list.Headfan wrote:Premiers wrote:Correct. Re: Recruits for Season 2024
True but some might still be recovering from pre season surgery. Does anyone know when Deakan Jackson is back playing.?? Yeah know he's had shoulder reconstruction last year and did it in a trial but that must be close to a year ago nowwhybother wrote:seems like an awful lot of injuries before even the start of a season

Deakin Jackson had a reconstruction on his other shoulder late last year. Don’t think we’ll see much of him this year

Also Hansen in Blake missing too unless he had surgery on troublesome shoulder or something. He was definitely there at the season launch.

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Eagles won 3 Q of the trial convincingly, lost last Q.
D'Aloia BOG, aided by Redden's tapwork. Moore showed enough to suggest he may take a key defensive position.
McKay, onballer, wasn't a big possession winner but showed classy disposal, Neuman was good. The "Buck" experiment (playing forward pocket and onball) worked and Weckert showed marked improvement.
Disappointing that Troy Menzel suffered a hamstring injury.

I should’ve asked different game style to Sheedys last year

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Completely different game style - very attacking with quick forward entries. D’Aloia exceptional in the middle, clearly BOG. Riley Knight also amongst it. South looked very average so looking forward to seeing how our new game style stacks up against Centrals in a couple of weeks. We certainly look much bigger and taller than last year.

Re: Recruits for Season 2024
Mickyj, I respect your opinion but you would not have complained about Sheedy's game style which won 2 Premierships in 2020-2021. He just didn't have the players to execute the same game style and adjusted - a very good coach.
Yes, today's trial against weak opposition was good but it's premature (if not unfair) to already be classing our game style as better this year - it looked pretty ordinary in the last Q today. But the enthusiasm is there and hopefully we can build.

Yeah I should’ve said last years style no issues with 2020-2021 no offence to Sheeds was meant . Just last years footy season was not good for our eagles .
Sorry again I just wish or hope we don’t regress to our previous coach now crows coach game style very defensive and no plan B .
Just my thoughts and hopes
