Re: THE 2023 SEASON
Dont know where to put this but the Eagles and Council should approach the SANFL to go partners on Woodvile oval . That money would be handy on improvements.

Re: THE 2023 SEASON
Maybe we could go in with the SANFL for our women/juniors at Footy Park and pass of our ground near the dump to someone else.

I think I know what you mean. Makes sense if we get it at the right price. Will be a nice environment for our Juniors and Women.

Re: THE 2023 SEASON
From the article above, the SANFL will spend $27 million to get things like change rooms, lighting, fencing, car parking, interchange bench etc. Essentially getting it up to scratch to be an elite training/playing facility for State squads. Given our clubs history with the venue, it’s location and how much of a pounding Woodville Oval receives over winter, it would be great if we could give our oval some relief by playing some underage or women’s games at the venue and/or using it as a base in preference, or in conjunction with Ottoway, if it makes commercial sense and there is enough availability after the SANFL uses it.

Fair bit of work gone into the developing the facilities down there and still more to come I believe, cant see any move away from there in the immediate future, think the plan is to get it to a point for the SANFLW games to be there at a minimum.

For those who weren’t aware, Jesse Lonergan will be an assistant coach at Norwood next year.

Was talking to Jesse at the presentation night and asked if he had put in for the Eagles reserves coaching job, he said i have some bad news for you, "I'm going to be a line coach at Norwood" - Tassie connection there. He felt it would be difficult telling players what to do after being one of their team mates. Said he might come back in the future.

He's been invited to train with them.
A similar situation to what happened with Hayes and Tsitas.
Freo (as will most AFL clubs with a free list spot) will likely have invited a couple of players to trial with them over Summer. Whoever is the most impressive of these players will get selected in one of two Supplement periods - November 27 to December 14 and January 15 to February 19.
You can read more about it here and the article makes reference to our club as an example of one that got boned.

Interesting. But at least if it works out yes I'm a positive person but if it does at least it will give someone else a go. But thankfully we didn't lose other players in the draft.
