FINAL RESULTS
Winner - Jimmy Rowe
Runner-up - Joe Sinor
3rd - Luke Beecken
4th - Connor Ballenden
5th - Mitch Hardie
Well done Jimmy and congratulations. Not sure the voting format or how close the positions were from each other. The fact Hardie came in 5th and only played half a season is either a sign of how well he played or how shallow the depth of the squad was this year after the top five. Probably both.
Beecken coming in 3rd shows the massive step-up he made this season.

Re: Club Champion 2023
To add to the post of "Titan2" the following awards were also presented:
RESERVES B&F
1) Harrison Dawkins
2) Will Neumann
3) Lukas Cooke
BEST 1st YEAR PLAYER
Max Beattie
MOST IMPROVED
Adam D'Aloia
BEST TEAM MAN
Zak Buck
LIFE GOVENORS AWARD (best backman)
Luke Thompson
COACHES AWARD
Mitch Hardie
LEADING GOAL KICKER
Connor Ballenden
JAMIE TAPE AWARD
Joe Sinor
B&F
Rowe 241, Sinor 210, Beecken 157, Ballenden 94 and Hardie 91.
Hardie finishing fifth most probably reflects the inconsistent seasons of many of our players. Only six players got Magarey Medal votes.
Mitch Hardie had a very good start to the season and this was reflected in the early voting.
I believe five coaches give scores from 0-5 for each player for each game. Maximum points would be 25 a game.
Mitch Hardie has yet to be told his future at Geelong. He has been at the club just about every day since the end of Geelong's season.
The club has been in contact with Andrew McPherson and Josh Morris, both are overseas at the moment. Talks will be continued.
The club has signed a tall forward, inside mid, outside mid and a back man.

Hardie probably didn't want to fully move over to Geelong unless he was offered an ongoing contract so probably retains a lot of ties back to Adelaide. He would have seen how Williams was treated so probably being cautious. The difference between him and Williams is that he is by far the superior player based on his SANFL form at the time as well as how he has performed in Geelong's VFL Team. I'd be shocked if he wasn't offered at least a 1 year contract.
Good to hear the club has been busy already in discussion with potential recruits and some signings. I'm sure the club will announce them in time but it's only early days and I guess they would prefer to do this after the AFL draft in case any of them are drafted/re-drafted.
Is this back man a key position player?

Did Sheedy get a suitable, standing ovation farewell?

Sheedy was farewelled as a two time premiership coach should have been. Many great speeches, he was gracious and humble in his response.
Players and past players acknowledged him, he was presented with a memento of his time at the Eagles. The prolonged standing ovation was fitting of his achievements at the club. He now has two premierships at the Eagles and one at Sturt!
