I didn't think that you were allowed to start before 12 noon on an Anzac Day. perhaps things have changed

I actually thought the same thing, was expecting the reserves to start at 12.01pm and league at around 2.45.
SANFL app has 11.50 and 2.40

My app is 30 min out because I'm on eastern time at the moment.
In the 2000's when we played on Anzac day the 2's always started after the end of the march at 12.01, that seems to have changed in the last 4 or 5 years.

Dane MacFarlane didn't train tonight. Redden also missing. Kobe Mutch training by himself, looking very sharp with run agility drills but no overhead ballwork. Not certain but don't think Troy Menzel was out there.

The Anzac Day Commemoration Act 2005 (SA) makes it unlawful for any ticketed public sporting or entertainment event to take place between 5:00am and 12:00pm on Anzac Day, unless explicit permission is granted by the relevant minister.
Events held without an entry charge, such as junior sports, are permissible.

Poole for Hardie and Menzel for Moore would be the only changes I’d make. And would be happy for Poole and Menzel to have another week off if not 100% fit. Redden looked a fair bit more than 2 weeks away fitness wise against Glenelg. However, we saw what he did last time against North - he dominated the ruck.

Did I read Poole was out last week with a Hammy. Quick recovery. Should be 3 weeks to get it right.Aerie wrote:Poole for Hardie and Menzel for Moore would be the only changes I’d make. Is Sheedy playing mind games with north or was Poole rested last week
Wimpy might know who trained this week

Re: Eagles v North 25 April Maughan Thiem Kia oval
At training last night Poole trained with the league squad and appeared OK. Looked ready to go. Redden trained with reserves squad, this suggests he needs to gain much more match fitness. Troy Menzel is raring to go.
Reckon for Poole, it was most probably more precautionary than a twanged hammy. Not being overly confident, it was a game in which he could be rested. Although our ruck set up is a little makeshift, Hayes and von Bertouch had ten clearances between them. Their mobility around the ground is an absolute asset.

Looking forward (hopefully) to seeing Stengle and Williams work some magic again in the forward lines - they were exciting to watch last week. Jack Hayes has been in outstanding form, and I would expect another great game from him for Anzac Day.

Went and had a look at our U18's play North at Prospect on Saturday.
The U18's had a very easy win by nearly 14 goals. After a slow start to the season the 18's have gathered momentum and won their last two.
Was impressed by Mattaes Phillipou (16yrs 4mnths) - 36 disposals, Harrison Dwyer, Brock Thompson, Sam Nicholls, Adam D'Aloia, William Pearce (explosive), William Neumann and Lukas Cooke (6'4" and very athletic, a Jack Lukosius clone).
