Re: Roosters v Eagles prospect oval 24th July
Time to throw the magnets up in the air and see where they land on the white board!
Pudney and Beecken back in the side - run all day, carry the ball, kick long, run all day and then run some more!
Lonergan to either spend his time on ground (however limited that is) working in close with Redden on the ball or out of the side.
Hopefully Thompson and Goldsworthy back in.
Ellis-Yolmen to Centre Half Back and Rowland to join him permanently in defence.
Duval to the forward line to be constantly on the move and flying for everything. Litster moved further up the field to use his delivery in to our forwards.
Ballenden as 2nd Ruck.
F: Duval D.Menzel Hardie
HF: Litster Ballenden Goldsworthy
C: Pudney Clarke Beecken
HB: Sinor Ellis-Yolmen Toumpas
B: Rowland Thompson Lehmann
R: Redden Lonergan Knight
I: Mutch Firns McLeod Comitogianni
In: Thompson, Goldsworthy, Pudney, Beecken
Out: Guilhaus, Pearce, Buck, Bruce

They need to change Reddens rucking as the other sides have worked out that he just taps the ball down and they are ready for it

Re: Roosters v Eagles prospect oval 24th July
Just need our blokes to work out he just taps the ball down and get there first. Dont mean that as a smart arse but we have been so reactive for weeks now. Sure perhaps our footy smarts need a reboot but attitude will see us qualify for finals. There is still enough talent there

Agree with most of this Aerie.
However I do think that Sheedy needs to drop one of our underperforming senior players to make a statement - probably Mutch or Lonergan. Whether Comma is designated a senior player now I'm not sure but he's also been extremely lucky to have remained in the team.
Really like your suggestion of trying Duval up forward.
Let's get Firns back to being that run with midfielder that he played so successfully last year. He's been fantastic for us this year but let's be blunt - he doesn't kick goals. So when you play him up forward you are sacrificing a position where we could possibly score.
Ellis Yolman at CHB - like that a lot. He's looks a little unfit by SANFL standards I've thought and going to CHB where it's not as intense in midfield might be a good move.
Beecken on the wing just has to happen. Put him there and leave him there come what may until the season's end.

Yep hamstring
My question why Redden and Seb on the bench and Firns number 1 ruck
I’m waiting for a better way to put the team up

Re: Roosters v Eagles prospect oval 24th July
Probably poorly worded but I see what you mean. We also have CEY and Duval on the I/C bench. 21 players named in the 2's so we must have a few out. Has anyone found out what is the go with Allmond.Mickyj wrote:whybother wrote:We have lost Ballenden again

Maybe I have missed some information but what happened to Zane Williams. Not even in the reserves.

You need to get out a bit more. Zane was drafted mid year to the AFL. Mentioned on the Eagles Nest at the time.

The team seems in such disarray that I think I even miss Williams

Re: Roosters v Eagles prospect oval 24th July
Can we just have a decent crack for 4 quarters? The Eagles have given supporters great value over a long time now (premierships not included) but the disjointed, disinterested performances this year are not the Eagles way. Have a go and if we are not quite up to the level so be it

Anyone watching the U16. What happened with the 3rd quarter. It only went just over 17min.

Just turned the U18 on. Is Tyler Welsh playing in 2 teams today. Swear he was in the U16's earlier.

South have done the right thing and beaten Sturt (at Unley) for us today! Now we MUST somehow beat North at Prospect tomorrow to draw level with Sturt and go two games ahead of South.

Go eagles
Each and every one of you know the stakes of the game tomorrow. There is not a single player that can be forgiven if they are not switched on from the first bounce tomorrow and to crack in and hunt with desperation. As supporters, that's all we ask!!
You've got the skill to win this. Its just between the ears whether you want it or not.

It was good to see both U16s and U18s have wins against the higher placed North Adelaide teams.
When I was following the scores yesterday I was also amazed that Tyler Welsh played in both the U16s and U18s.
Looked like he coped extremely well, kicked 3.3 in the U16s and 3.1 in the U18s.
Went and saw him play in the U16 state team against Western Australia at Thebby Oval, he played very well and kicked 4.2 from CHF to maybe SA's best. Looks to have a huge future. I hope in 2024 he's playing league for the Eagles as an under 18.

That’s a change! I wonder if Mead will be the one that hasn’t come up with his hamstring?
Reserves up by 16 points at half time. Hopefully, with the results of the juniors yesterday and the Reserves performance so far, it is a sign the club means business!
Big game this afternoon. A bit of a lift for us Eagles supporters seeing South beat Sturt yesterday!

Re: Roosters v Eagles prospect oval 24th July
I do suppose the Redden to reserves has been coming. Around the ground he has done nothing and his ruckwork has been poor. I think the South game , he was just doing dinky tap downs where Ballendan was thumping the ball forward to advantage.Aerie wrote:Mickyj wrote:Just checked the APP Redden and Lonergan playing in the seconds

That Patrick Weckert in the reserves looks a star. Is this his 1st game in reserves. Tall boy.
