According to Godsy's comments in the Messenger, more likely to get players back for Norwood.
Hopefully Stewy comes up for this week though.

According to my footy sources Stewy was one of three being tested for the sturt game
He was hit around a lot by sturt players

Another week and another league debut, good luck Daniel!
Good to see Cam Giles string a few games together in the twos, it's like young talent time in that team at the moment but all good signs for the future.

For the first time in this injury run, our defence takes a hit.
It'll be interesting to see how we handle that.

Good point Mara. And what a hit. Anyway that's how it happens sometime. Does anyone have any info non Daniel M. What does he play like?
One player I have been hoping to see all year long, Andrew McPherson is injured again. Maybe it will stop him getting rafted and we see him next season in the top team.

Minney you mean goddy i was impressed with him 2 years ago i think it was then he had a serious injury knee i believe.
He has come back a very good player last week he kicked the first goal in the seconds
Seconds he plays mid field and up forward IIRC
Could add a bit of extra grunt he can go
Hopefully like Firns and Lee Westbrook ect when promoted they do not need to be the best footballers as they need to be in the seconds
And can play a bit more relaxed and grow more like some have this year

Cam Giles did a lot last week in the seconds marking and goaling and rucking iirc

Mara32 - I think we have taken two hits in defence, Paul S. and Goldy.
Summo has been playing good footy in the reserves, just hope he shows a little attacking flair in the league. A chance for Giuffreda to become more dominant.
Enjoy your posts Mara32.

Thanks Wimpy...
To have conceded an ave. of just 55pts a game is just incredible. I'm sure Godsy would like to score more, but the low against has always kept us in reach when we've struggled early.
And yeah, no Goldy and Stewy will really test that this week. North have actually kicked the biggest score against us this year, even though we still won that contest.

Watched the game on my digital pass. I'm getting lazy not going to away games. Our small brigade is awesome. When Johansen came to us I did not know much about him but for some-one his statue, he is great. Young Minney must be the shortest payer in the SANFL. Looked funny standing next to Lochy and Gus. All looked good for the rest of the year.

Just bloody beautiful. A team of no names. We strangle the crap out of teams after half time. Can't fault the endeavour and committment. Go you Eagles.
Presentation at 722:
Best Players:
1) Thompson
2) Johansen
3) Nick hayes
4) Hall
5) Boyd
6) Giuffreda

Just checking the ladder, our reserves have fallen badly of their perch. Last. Regrettably this is because of the injuries from the A grade.

Sad to see the reserves at the bottom of the ladder. Seven league injuries yesterday plus Whittlesea going interstate and Andrew McPherson still out injured. The blooding of youngsters, many very, very promising won't be lost. Have been very impressed with little Jimmy Rowe although very small and most probably not AFL standard he should have a very good career at the Eagles. He was given best for the reserves at last night's club presentations.

Good you mention Jimmy Rowe, wimpy. Considering Stephen must be a Norwood life member, is he still eligible to transfer there as father/son. Our club culture must be good if he wants to play with us.

I think it's too late for him to make a father/son decision. I believe he made the decision to play at the Eagles because he was in our Zone and all his mates play at the Eagles. Very ironic that where he lives is now rezoned to Glenelg where his old man coached. Jimmy Rowe's situation is a bit like Billy Stretch's as he was zoned to Eagles could have been a father/son for Eagles but he went to Immanual College and all his mates there played for Glenelg so the Eagles allowed him to transfer there.

I'm already excited for next year to see the likes of Lukosious, Weidemann and Rowe potentially in the league line up.

Re: Round 14: North v Eagles - Saturday 22 July @ Prospect Oval
i must say i hate prospect oval getting car parks
Saying that was a great game we held them off yesterday or at arms length and won by a bigger margin than we had a full side of our best players.
Saying that i know the seconds is really bad but the coach wants to give our younger guys a chance . Yes i saw the entire game yesterday and yes our side were the size of boys against men . But the way to get used to men is being 18 to get ready to go up . I know people wont agree but last three GF games for the seconds we won two . How did those wins get our league side it didnt and yes was we lost a lot of seconds players that hasn't really hurt the league at this stage .
What weve done is bring young guys up and into the league Firns West Lee Minney are the new guns Westbrook Haylock Gaffney Comma have played longer but are still getting better
If that makes sense
Minney yesterday played ok kicked a goal he is tiny and was the shortest in the side to me he proved the younger guys are ready when asked to step up

Considering what a footy friend told me allegedly Stephen Rowe was on the radio saying the Eagles have the best junior development and he wanted Jimmy to go to the Eagles .
True or not i have no clue
We also have one or two sons of Darren Mead who was a Port player must be a life member to .

The father/son rule doesn't apply to Darren Mead's sons they are from our zone and to progress they basically have to come through the U16 and U18 competition.
The youngest boy, Jackson will be very, very good. A hard nut centreman. Vice captain of SA U16s, and has been in the best players for all SA's games.

Looking forwarded to the line-up against Norwood. Could be 4 + players coming back. Liked Jackson Lee's game a few weeks back.
