Will most probably find out tomorrow at training. Would think Rowland, Redden and Goldsworthy would have to train tomorrow night for any chance to play on Saturday.

The Eagles released a video saying Reddens rehab was going well and he’d be ready round 1.
It was released after round 1.
I’ll wait and see what you see Wimpy

Hardie in for Mutch (inj)?
Williams in for West (inj)?
Jack Hayes 1st Ruck swapping with Von Bertouch? Williams to play small forward?

I don't think the coach likes to mess with his set ups. Think Stephen Mills will be a straight swap for West, with Jack H. to spend more time in ruck. Clay Cameron can easily cope playing CHF. Like to see Mitch Hardie get a game, to me he seems to be more of an onballer than H/F flanker. Zane Williams is gaining more confidence and could get a game soon.

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
Went to training last night. Sam Michael and Stephen Mills trained with the reserves group. Redden made an appearance with the league group. Goldsworthy and Rowlands slowly jogged the boundary line, don't think they will be ready. Jordan West was in a knee brace and just watched training. Kobe Mutch wasn't seen. Zane Williams and Mitch Hardie trained with the league. Stengle trained with the reserves.

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
So based on training report, team could line up:
ff T. Menzel Von Bertouch Williams
hf D Menzel Cameron Hardie
C Pudney Lonergan McFarlane
hb Toumpas Thompson Jungfer
bb Guifreda Seymour Firns
1st Ruck Redden Knight Tsitas
2nd Ruck Hayes, Sinor, Poole
res Hayes, Sinor, Poole, Sharman
If Redden doesn't play, Von Bertouch becomes 2nd ruck(changing with Hayes at FF) with Nick Moore on the Bench.
Still a strong team on paper even without Goldsworthy, Rowland, Stengle, Mutch, West and maybe Redden.
To me, Jungfer is showing signs of becoming Draft material - still young, around 186cm, above average pace/agility, clean ball handling. Recall an old report that AFL scouts were interested in him 2 years ago before overlooking him.

Jungfer and Pudney both impressed last week. They provide so much run. Hawke, your side looks good.

Strong side, especially with Redden a possible in. Perhaps Mead retains his spot instead of Sharman (prob don't need another forward). Would they give Lehman a task on McBean?
I would like to see Williams in the A Grade. Watching the Reserves Grand Final last year - I thought Williams looked a class above all others on the ground and comfortably league material.

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
Aerie, You mentioned McBean and this is exactly why I chose Sharman on the bench. If McBean gets out of control, von Bertouch to CHB on McBean and Sharman takes von Bertouch's forward role. He is also mobile enough to play on a HF flank if he had to.
But you're right - I forgot about Mead - he would be stiff to be dropped after one game.
Hope they give Mitch Hardie some time on the ball. Strong body at 186cm and played well (30 possessions) in the midfield in the Seconds last week.

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
EAGLES
Eagles premiership ruckman Jarrad Redden could make a timely return for the clash with Glenelg at ACH Group Stadium.
The former Power giant, who could replace injured Jordan West, has been included in the 24-man squad with fellow inclusions Zane Williams and Mitchell Hardie.
Recruited from the Canberra Demons, Hardie (23, 186cm and 86kg) is named on the extended interchange which will be trimmed by two before the bounce.

Just hope Zane Williams and Mitch Hardie can make the final 22. Have a lot of time for Zane. Still unsure of ruck set up and situation with Kobe Mutch.

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
Bays too good in the second half once the darkness set in.
The goal on 3 qtr time was a bit of a knockout punch, although they seemed the more dominant team all day their poor kicking early kept the door open, thought we were still a rough chance with that little burst midway through the last but not our day.
Hope our new lights are stronger than down there.

Been awhile since all our grades have lost on the same day. Lets just put that behind us. I recall Norward touched us up last year and how did that year turn out.

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
Hopefully one to get out of the system early on. Wasn't a particular good day for footy, windy and cool but Glenelg will be a strength to overcome with their superior marking. They kill us in the air. Long way to go before September and we will improve from that I'm sure

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
Missed round 1 so not sure what to make of yesterdays effort. Our forward entries were not great but Vonny was well beaten and Sinor was shut down very well. Mc Farlane and Cameron showed some signs but we must be at least 50/50 win loss while we get the blend right

Re: R2 Glenelg v Eagles Saturday 1610
Just looked like a team where the players hadn't played much together and had trouble gelling. Our cohesion and fluency was poor, this was most probably seen in the match stats where the Eagles matched the Bays in most areas except for inside 50 where we were comprehensively beaten 56 to 42. Glenelg were able to get their goals easier with better entries. Their defensive marking at crucial times was extremely frustrating. Sometimes I thought we held on to the ball too long waiting for something to happen instead of putting them under pressure with quick entries. We were a bit undermanned lets hope we get a few back from injury and suspension.

EAGLES 9.8.62
GLENELG 13.13.91
Goal Kickers: D. Menzel 3, J. Hayes 2, C. Cameron 2, J. Sinor, Z. Williams
Best Players: J. Hayes, J. Sinor, B. Jungfer, L. Thompson
Round 2 twilight game saw us take on Glenelg at ACH Group Stadium.
In tricky conditions, the first term saw the home team kick with the wind, and with Glenelg’s wayward kicking at goal, it allowed us an opportunity in the first quarter to only be down by 5 points which I thought was a good result heading into the second quarter.
The second quarter was a real arm wrestle with Glenelg having several opportunities as we went in 1 point up in half time. Once again in the third quarter we battled hard but some turnover saw Glenelg kick 2 late goals which saw the margin go out by 3 goals.
The last quarter seen Glenelg apply score board pressure and their dominance showed on the score board.
I was proud of how we fought the game out but our connection and synergy with the group is not quite where we need it. We will continue to work on both our defence and offence to get this right.
Congratulations to Mitch Hardie on playing his first game for the footy club which means 9 players have already debuted in 2021. Our better players on the night were Jack Hayes, Angus Poole, Ben Jungfer and Joey Sinor.
We look forward to getting back to Woodville Oval and taking on the Crows who had a very good victory against South Adelaide in what will be a tough game.
