Our Eagles are in action for the first time this season as we head to Noarlunga this Friday night to take on Port Adelaide. For those heading down early Jimmy Deane's Bistro will be open for meals from 5pm.
Also this Thursday night at the Eagles Function Centre, the members draw has reached $500 and must be won so make sure you get along for a meal and your chance to win.

The league team for the trial looks very strong. Only definites I can see missing are Petrenko and Giuffreda. Others missing that could make the best 21 are Lewis (a coach favourite), West and Comitogianni. It seems strange West is not named in the first 21. Maybe he might be a direct swap for Lukosius when he is unavailable. Appears Redden and Borholm are the front runners in the rucking stakes. Jack Firns also seems to be a favourite of the coach. Don't know why, has absolutely no skills. Will be good to see how J. Rowe, J. Weidemann and C Gaffney perform. Let's hope our style of play is a lot more attacking. Just hope we don't need to use candles and miner's helmets during the night.

I like the look of the league trial side .
Seem to recall the old days under Ron many league players played in the seconds during trial games

Lighting very poor. Hard to recognise reserve players.
The aggression and tacking from both our teams was excellent.
Petrenko attended and was doing some stats for the reserves.
Seb G and Ethan Miller did some recovery work around the boundary but did not play.
Lachlan Sheppard from the Vic. TAC competition (Dandenong) looked useful. Left footed 6'1" halfback.
Borholm started as the knock ruck.
Borholm and Redden at times changed up forward but looked too slow. Unsure who our two rucks will be. Although Redden was out leapt by the magpie rucks he did some very good ruck work.
At times we seemed to go quicker and longer into the forward lines than last year.
As always our fitness looked very, very good. Ran magpies ragged in the second half (9.7 to 1.4). magpies played 13 listed AFL players including Trengove, snelling, Neade,Lindsay Thomas, Hombsch, Lienert and Frampton.

Good summary Wimpy. Sinor a big blow. How long is a broken leg. Better than ACL.

Dusk time at Noarlunga must have confused Luko with another player. Five an excellent return seeing he was lively all over the ground.

I wouldn't get too excited about Lachlan Sheppard, just trying to see how far he can go. I would think he's moved over here with no guarantees. But it's good to see he wants to advance his football.
Spoke to Luko's mum and she said he definitely only kicked 4 goals.
