How much of a blow is Viney for Norwood? Don't really know him but he's been suspended for 1 match.

We should win; after all, we have 3 extra players on the field for us...or is it 21 extra players, I don't know - it depends which opposition supporter you speak to.

I have read some of these thing. These guys need to open both eyes and forget the umpires. That Norwood lot want a free for every thing and the opposition none. I never watch the umpires. Most of the time they are better than the supporters except for that western bulldogs guy last year against the crows.spell_check wrote:We should win; after all, we have 3 extra players on the field for us...or is it 21 extra players, I don't know - it depends which opposition supporter you speak to.

Troy Pannell, yes, that was a rare exception!
All it comes down to is the umpires cannot create the desire to win, nor get numbers around the ball. They also don't make you hit targets.

Fair enough... either way, I think our best footy should be good enough. I always feel Friday night games are tough for us cuz we don't play them much and Norwood play them every second week... but having said that we have a pretty good record over the years.
Look forward to the challenge.

Angus Rowntree is set to play his 100th League game on Friday night at the Parade. After an injury interrupted pre-season Angus has had a strong month of football in the Reserves and is primed to take on Norwood in his milestone match. Ethan Haylock’s strong form in the Reserves has also been rewarded being added to the 22 man squad. Jared Petrenko is set to the miss the game with a minor quad issue.

The one thing Eags have been lucky with so far this year is injury... not sure we have the depth to cover 2-3 starting 18 at the 1 time.
So hopefully Pup is minor and no one joins him.

Pity for the player that drops out. I'm a fan of Haylock based on what I saw last year so I hope he makes the cut. We play well against Norwood most of the time (except last year). Pup will be massive loss but we need to rotate player to avoid long term injuries as we tend the play a full on game. Some of the Norwood crowd are a bit hostile. They always complain about umpiring so I hope we flog them. I usually meet up with a Norwood mate at the Coopers bar in the NW pocket but I will watch it on my laptop tonight.

Also congrats to Gus Rowntree. 100 games. With luck it could have been 150. A true club champion.

Our weaknesses got exposed last night..undersized in ruck and in defence and the midfield is way too slow...can't have rowntree rowland poole and lewis all playing midfield. Summerton is not up to it and needs to be dropped. Whittlesea is a decent b grader but nothing more but due to lack of options will keep getting a game

Hate losing to Norwood, but can't help feeling we might've needed that.
I agree with most things you said Michael, but not so much the pace... we've looked lightning quick in winning games this year. Every team looks slow when they're having a dirty day/night.
We missed Pup, and we have no depth.
Godden will respond.

Yes agree. In past weeks our pace has been our weapon. Maybe its the smaller ground but we looked like we had a hangover from last week. Gus did not have his best match. Bauldestone killed Bomber but this was bombers first loss and he did get the ball around the ground. All our small were well beaten. Was Hall injured. I saw he had only 3 touches until 3/4 time. I hate Norwood oval so I watched it on the stream although I have the seasons pass.

i agree to some extent
We as fans knew Bomber loses to the norwood ruckmen .
We all knew Pup would be missed didnt know that much
Dont agree with Summerton who comes Wood Cause there was no Guff last night in any side .
WHittlesea maybe
But west may come up soon

The loss probably wont hurt us but injures to Hall and McGregor and Petrenko might. Guff must have surcomed to another injury. We need him fit and back in the side. I don't think we play that well at night as well and with Norwood and South they are sides who seem a bit stronger that the ones we have beaten so far

Hally didn't have a touch in second half, paper said concussion. Don't recall seeing anything myself, speaking to someone after the game they said it possibly happened when he took a pack mark.
Paper says hamstring for Loccy, didn't see that either.
Might have been easier to see if they turned all the lights on seemed to be alot of dark spots last night or was that just me.
