Re: Eagles Emails 2017
The Woodville West Torrens Football Club wishes to advise all it members, corporate partners, sponsors and supporters of the signing of players Jake Johansen and Jordan West and Assistant Coach Brian Haraida for the 2017 Season.
Jake, 20, after 53 plus SANFL League games and stints with Port Adelaide and Glenelg has decided to continue his career with our Club. Jake, a premier player at League level with great speed and skill, plays both midfield and forward and while small in stature, shows great tenacity for the contest. Jake is very excited and eager to immerse himself in the Eagles culture and continue his upward progression in his career.
Jordan, 23, a 203cm Ruck/Forward has signed with the Club from the St. George Dragons in the Sydney Premier League. Jordan, who spent time on the Swans Academy List and 3 years at Southern Oregon University playing basketball, is an athletic big man whose strength will be a key asset.
The Club is excited to have Jordan’s services and we look forward to him developing into a key component in our structure. Jordan is excited about the opportunity to play with the Eagles and is looking to have an impact on the club for many years.
Joining the Coaching group will be Brian Haraida to work with both the League and Reserves as an Assistant Coach. Brian, a 268 game, 3 time Premiership player and State representative with Central District (1990 – 2004) brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from both his football and business ventures. Brian is excited to be working with a talented player group and looking forward to helping the group continue to strive for success.
Ben Watkins, who has been a Senior Assistant for the past two seasons will take on the role as Head of Development. Part of this role will see Ben oversee the Reserves playing group, while continuing his role as Senior Assistant. The Club will look to add another assistant in the coming weeks once interviews have concluded.
Please join the Club in welcoming Jake, Jordan and Brian to the Woodville West Torrens Football Club

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
EAGLES CLUB
Seven 22 (Port Road) achieved a Net Profit of $488k for 2016 (prior to the distribution of $616k to the Football Club)
Eagles Function Centre (Oval Avenue) realised a loss of $283k for 2016.
The combined result for the Eagles Club was a surplus of 205k (prior to the distribution to the Football Club).
WOODVILLE WEST TORRENS FOOTBALL CLUB
The Woodville West Torrens Football Club realised a surplus of $328k for 2016. This is compared to previous years’ result of a deficit of $74k for 2015, deficit of $507k in 2014 and a deficit of $176k in 2013.
The surplus of $328k includes $250k which is the first payment received from SANFL from the sale of AAMI stadium. Excluding the AAMI Stadium funds results in a surplus of $128k for 2016.
The budget for 2017 has been set to achieve a cash surplus of $120k at the end of the 2017 financial year.
Whilst this target will be challenging we are $96k above budget at the end of the first 2 months. Some of this will be due to timing issues but others are saving achieved which will enhance the year end result.

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
Throughout the past two years the Eagles senior squad has been set on building upon the already strong culture at the football club. Whilst we are yet to achieve the ultimate success we desire, we have been able to build what we believe to be one of the best club cultures you will find. It really is a great place to be.
The players are only one part of ‘the club’. What makes it such a great atmosphere is the relationships between the players, coaches, staff and supporters. For the players, this means we have an environment where we enjoy training, playing and socialising as a club. The success of our junior teams and the Reserves in the past four years illustrates how important the club culture is in retaining our talented young players.
Our playing list has been intentionally rejuvenated over recent years where the senior squad now comprises of 85% of players originating from within our local zones.
The ‘2017 Season Launch and Player Auction’ on March 25th is the first event of the year where we get to celebrate what it means to be an Eagle. We appreciate the support of the entire Eagles’ Family, which includes members, volunteers, family and friends, and would love it if you would join us in what will certainly be a great night.
With games approaching, we’d love it if as many people as possible get back to the after match presentations, upstairs at the club and enjoy being part of the Eagles’ Family.
Regards,
Patrick Giuffreda & Luke Thompson

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
The reason for this email is to let you know of some exciting improvements to the Maugham Thiem Hyundai Oval facility over the past few months. The City of Charles Sturt has replaced the bench metal seating in the Barry Jarman Stand with “bucket” seating from AAMI stadium. The interchange boxes in front of the Percy Fox Green Stand are also planned to be replaced.
A portable electronic scoreboard at the southern end on match days has been secured to enhance the viewing for all spectators. Other initiatives are also being explored to improve the facilities and experience for members and supporters including improvements to the PA system and more food and beverage options for game days.
The City of Charles Sturt has also replaced the existing fence around the oval with a new picket fence. New sponsor signs are in the process of being manufactured and printed with up to date logos.
The Club has decided to give members and supporters an opportunity to own their own little piece of the pickets by purchasing a plaque that is attached to the top of the Picket facing the crowd for $120 and will be in the colours of your choice being Yellow, Blue or Green.
We plan to formally launch the ability to secure a picket at the Player Auction night on March 25th.
Prior to this, as special recognition to the Seven Life Governors and the Seven Premiership Teams, we plan to give all sponsors & members the opportunity to place an offer to purchase one of the fourteen special plaques.
The reason to do this prior to the night is to allow any person not attending the Player Auction Night, an opportunity to place an offer for each plaque. The highest offer will be the opening offer on the night and prior offers will be securely and confidentially held. The successful highest offer will be informed prior to commencing the auction.
Please click here to complete a pre-release Auction form.

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
The Club is delighted to announce we have developed a mutual business relationship with NAB and here is how you can help.
For anybody that is looking to buy a home, obtain a business loan, or has a loan and would like to see if you could get a great deal to refinance, if you mention that you are involved with or are a supporter of the Woodville West Torrens Football Club at the beginning of your conversation with NAB, your Club, the Eagles, will get a commission payment if the loan proceeds to settlement. The commission the Club receives does not influence the rate you receive as you decide if the loan arrangement suits your requirements.
If you have any queries please contact myself as per the details below and I am more than happy to make sure I can help place you in front of a NAB banker who can provide great service to you. Alternatively, you can visit your local NAB branch to discuss this further. NAB Terms and conditions and lending criteria apply.

I responded to the survey. I am not if others out there are of the same mind but we should have arrange our programming around the AFL to maximise attendance. As a crows supporter (Eagles first) we have a few clash matches and it divides me. An example is July1 we play the Magpies at Woodville and at the same time the Crows play Carlton at the MCG. I was considering going over that weekend. To help the Power play that evening and this will limit any magpie supporters. Surely the whole day would impact the crowd.

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
I tend to agree Goddy. The vocal minority elsewhere in the footy forum universe were adamant that the league needed to play games on Saturdays. I understand for some clubs that might be the case for us Sundays seem the better option based on games so far this year. I dont follow either local AFL team but the attitude of many that the league shouldn't worry about them and play saturdays regardless because thats what happened in the glory days is short sighted. I have read North didnt do well on Sundays, fine, play Saturday home games the opposite seems to apply for South due to the SFL, for us the AFL and Ammos seem to have a big impact on Saturday crowds so lets work around it for the 10 home games.

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
It was a tough night at Coopers Stadium on Friday night for the League team, going down for the first time this season. Plenty of areas to work on before Saturday's game against North Adelaide.
After a big loss to Port Adelaide last week, the Reserves turned their fortunes around running away with the game in the second half by 43 points. State Under 18 squad members Isaac Moller and Cooper Gaffney shone in the win.
At Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval on Saturday the Under 18's ran out winners by 62 points and remain undefeated and on top of the ladder.
This week at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval we have our first triple header for the season. The Under 18's kick things off at 9:25am,

Re: Eagles Emails 2017
This October, a group from the Eagles Football Club including players, coaches and staff will be trekking the Kokoda Trail to help raise funds for the Little Heroes Foundation and the WWTFC.
Senior coach - Michael Godden, Players - Jared Petrenko & Joe Heinjus, WWTFC Membership Coordinator/Receptionist - Melissa McKenzie, Chief Executive Officer of major partner Maughan Thiem - Daniel Thomas & Chief Operating Officer of major partner Skill Hire & WWTFC Board Member - David Couzner, will be following in the footsteps of the Australian soldiers on the 12 day Kokoda trek which is described as a world class, challenging, jungle bush walking experience.
The Kokoda Track inspires cultural interaction, not only with our own wartime history, but also with the trek crew and villagers you meet along the way!
Our Eagles team are already in preparation for the 96 kilometre journey and we would love your support. Every dollar raised goes towards helping WWTFC and our charity partner Little Heroes Foundation who heavily rely on the generosity of their supporters to be able to support seriously ill children and their families living in South Australia.
To Donate follow the link below. The link can also be found on the home page of our website. Every donation counts and any amount is extremely appreciated.
As a part of the Kokoda fundraising, the Club will also be running a Quiz night on Saturday August 5th. Put this night in your calendar and stay tuned for more details.

There are just two games left at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval in the 2017 season. If you attend these last two home games you will receive a double pass to the 2017 SANFL Macca's League Finals Series plus you'll also go into the draw to win a double pass to the 2017 Macca's League Official Grand Final Luncheon.
In addition to this as a part of SANFL Member Appreciation Round in Round 18, we will be inviting all our loyal members who have attended the first nine home games to join us in forming a guard of honor for the players as they run out to take on Central District, plus one lucky fan will toss the coin pre-match. More information will be provided in regards to this following this weekends game against Adelaide.
We look forward to seeing you over the next two weeks leading into our big finals campaign.
Go Eagles!
