SA Football Video Archive

Some of you may be interested in this new initiative.

The SA Football Video Archive has been created with the following aims:
1. To collect footage of SANFL, State of Origin and State football matches and related material. Althought not exclusive, the emphasis is on collection of material dating up until and including the 1990's.
2. To convert footage only available on VHS/BETA video tape to DVD.
3. To build up an archive of historic footage that might otherwise be lost forever.
4. To facilitate the trading of this footage.

There is some West Torrens footage from 1987 in the archive as well as Woodville season highlights from 1984 and 2 of the Eagles Grand Finals. Some of you may be interested in the State of Origin footage there as well.

Thanks 'Archiver' brings back a lot of memories of great footy.
Unfortunately, the write up opposite the 1975 video of Freddy Bills last game against Westies is incorrect.
They quote Freddy as a 'West Adelaide stalwart' & Torrens calling for a count. As all us old Torrens people know it was the other way around.
I was at that game & my friends & I were in our normal position on the fence by the coaches box.
We, plus everyone else on the fence were yelling at Freddy not to go on but his enthusiasm got the better of him. Players & officials were running everywhere & we ended up hiding a Torrens player under our blanket, from memory it was Normie Dare who later ended up as an assistant in the early days of the Brisbane Bears.
Saturday August 9th 1975, what a day.

What a pity there was no footage of the day at Thebby that Robbie Muir took offence at a comment from an opposition supporter & jumped the fence & took off after him towards South Road. Great days at Thebby Oval that's why I really enjoy going to preseason training at Thebarton each week. Many great memories & plenty of 'friendly ghosts'.

Sorry 'Archiver' my memory is not that good re telecast of this game, not even sure when it was. Robbie played for Torrens as well as Woodville & it could have been when he played for either team, all I'm sure of it was at Thebby & I was there.
I have a footy mate who's memory is much better than mine but unfortunately he's O/S at present but will keep it in mind when he returns. Maybe someone will read this that can provide more info on this event.
