Tv game though I'll be thankfully back at Eagles footy this week. Know that I'm going to be welcome back with open arms again as that's how welcome the boys make me feel.

Re: Eagles v Bulldogs June 8 Maughan Thiem Kia oval
Interesting with Wheare. Losing Menzel, we did need another marking target and hopefully Wheare can do the job.
Just unfortunate timing for Charlie West who has been out injured/state academy commitments/school commitments who is returning to U18s CHF this week and had he been playing regularly, would have challenged for a spot.
Anticipate a very tough match against Centrals, as tough as Norwood, Glenelg and Sturt, especially we being without Goldsworthy and Sinor (Menzel to a lesser degree).

Re: Eagles v Bulldogs June 8 Maughan Thiem Kia oval
I like the backline.
Hope there’s nothing behind Lukac being on the bench other than just interchanging with Reddo.
7 on the interchange and only 3 for the Reserves may mean a problem or 2?

Re: Eagles v Bulldogs June 8 Maughan Thiem Kia oval
It seems an odd decision to bring Wheare in.
I don't recall him kicking goals or being named in the best in the reserves. He's not the same style of player as Menzel.
It makes me think that either Ballenden on Weckert might be under an injury cloud despite both of them named.
Similarly Lukac hasn't been setting the world on fire in the reserves so you'd have to think the only reason he has been named on the bench is to add that extra ruck support if either Ballenden or Redden pull out.

Can someone please tell me what us wrong with Griff Hansen. Never played last week though named in the reserves but emergency then not in the under 18s named tonight. And yes I've known Griff for a few years and yes he's definitely a friend so as we're friends with each other I'm wondering why he's not playing this week.

Hann has struggled in every match. Not up to playing league. Has never gone over 50 in the champion data match day ratings.
Give someone else a go. Our bottom six are poor.

I think from my bad memory wheare kicked 3 of the 9 goals that the seconds kicked last week
We need goal kickers in the league

Obviously you dont take much interest in the reserves. Wheare has kicked 16 goals in 7 games in the reserves. Including a 5 and a 4. 3 last week. Deserves a shotTitan2 wrote:It seems an odd decision to bring Wheare in.

Just to change the subject a bit what's wrong with Griffyn Hansen wimpy?? Named in reserves squad as in last week but never played reserves and under 18s and hasn't been named in eagles grades this weekend then it says missing #1 ruckman meaning Griff on eagles under 18s report.

Re: Eagles v Bulldogs June 8 Maughan Thiem Kia oval
Titan, Re Wheare's selection, you may be correct that Ballenden, Weckert (or even Redden) are under an injury cloud. However, Wheare might be included to cover for Ballenden when Redden goes to the bench thus relieving Weckert from being the only marking target in attack.
Unfortunately, Eagles are still thin on tall key position players and need to recruit these in the next off-season. Jack Hayes for a starter, maybe Sharman ( especially wanting to cover any late 2025 AFL drafting of Weckert and preseason drafting of Charlie West)
