Norwood V Eagles July 17 Coopers Stadium
Seconds 11.30
League 2.10
This will be a very tough game in my opinion.

Re: Norwood V Eagles July 17 Coopers Stadium
Norwood Captain Nunn has dunn his knee and will be an out this week.
Has played some cracking games against us in the past.
Norwood still rate in the top 2 of disliked clubs as far as I'm concerned so be great to beat them on their own patch

I watched the game on the pass so happy we won
But how the heck did we pull that off Poole to the midfield
No Hayes last quarter is he ok ?

Both J. Hayes and Redden rested in the last quarter because we had it in the bag.Mickyj wrote:I watched the game on the pass so happy we won

Not even a scoreless opening term could prevent Woodville-West Torrens from celebrating the 200-game milestone of captain Luke Thompson with a 36-point win against Norwood at The Parade.
Neither side could manage a score until the 18th minute of the opening term before Tom Wagner booted a behind ahead of also contributing the only goal of the quarter five minutes later.
The lack of early potency didn’t concern the Eagles though, despite trailing by as much as 19 points when the Redlegs’ milestone man – Mitch Grigg – kicked truly nine minutes into the third quarter.
The visitors showed why they are are looming as an ominous challenger to undefeated Glenelg, flicking the switch from this point to kick the next six goals in succession to suddenly boast a 19-point advantage when Luke Beecken goaled on the run from 50m two minutes into the last quarter.
Emerging Redlegs forward prospect Tristan Binder hauled in an impressive pack mark before converting to trim the deficit to 13 points six minutes later but that would be the final score for the hosts, who were overrun by the powerful Eagles.
Eagles ball magnet James Tsitas continued on his way with a game high 29 disposals, 12 tackles and 10 clearances while Kai Pudney ran hard for his 22 disposals and four clearances.
Ruckman Jarrad Redden had 20 disposals while Jack Hayes and Kobe Mutch each collected 19 for the second-placed Eagles.
Grigg battled hard for Norwood with 29 touches, nine clearances and a goal while Nik Rokahr chalked up 25 disposals and Declan Hamilton 23 as Josh Richards continued his improvement with 21 disposals and eight tackles.

Re: Norwood V Eagles July 17 Coopers Stadium
Hit hard. The SA U19's had a trial match Friday night, 44 players were used, Eagles supplied 10 and Norwood 2. This trial match severely affected our Reserves and U18's. Apart from the U18's losing eight regulars to the state match they then lost another four to the reserves. The reserves were under manned but played extremely well to win, the U18's lost. The state's U17's captain Adam D'Aloia who normally plays in the U18's was promoted to the reserves and performed extremely well, next year he might do a Lachy Jones and play in the league team, well done to all the youngsters.

Looking at where the teams are placed on the ladder, a very important win for the Reserves as well as the league. An opportunity for the reserves to move to 3rd next weekend.
Will we see West get some league game time in coming weeks as back up for Redden? Perhaps a rest for the big fella, who has been playing superbly the last few weeks.

I’ve asked that question at home and at the games you wouldn’t like what I’ve been told Aerie
I think a third generation playing in the seconds is a bonus for the club !
