Re: Eagles v Glenelg Thebarton March 12
Ironical that, after 3-4 years of lacking backup 193cm "talls", this year we have an oversupply. Still having last year's Jack Hayes, von Bertouch, Thompson and Seymour, add Cameron, Sharman, Lehmann and Mills. Each year, we target multiple recruits expecting to fail landing many of them but maybe we were surprised that they all landed. However, a couple of them may not prove themselves as good as we thought and we'll be grateful for the extra supply. Hope we can see Cooper Sharman trialing soon - plays like Nick Hayes but taller (193cm) and an accurate goalkicker.

Re: Eagles v Glenelg Thebarton March 12
Our second trial seen us come up against a strong side in Glenelg. The first half saw goals hard to come by, with lots of pressure from both sides causing basic skill errors and our forward entries being forced wide.
At half time we were able to change a couple of minor things both defensively and offensively to try and hit the scoreboard with more freedom. The third quarter the boys started to get on top on the centre square, allowing some good 1 v 1’s, and score conversions. Kicking 6 goals in the 3rd quarter and defensively keeping Glenelg to 2.
Better players on the night were Jordan West, Riley Knight and Kobe Mutch through the middle of the ground. Jake Von Bertouch up forward kicking 3 goals and Pierce Seymour and Mitch Mead down the back.
It was another really good warm up for the boys as we continue to evolve as a Football Club. We look to further gelling the group together at our final trial match at Thebarton this Saturday morning against the Adelaide Crows. We look forward to seeing the Eagle supporters there at 9.30AM.

The Reserves played Glenelg on Friday night at Thebarton. We again were able to see different players through the team with plenty of younger players getting opportunities.
The first quarter was a tight tussle but we felt Glenelg were in control and we weren’t quite able to execute as we wanted to. The second quarter was a step backwards from what we want to achieve as a Reserves group and the players took accountability for this at the break.
The second half saw a consistent team effort and we were almost able to get a run on to take the lead but credit to Glenelg they were able to resist our efforts and hold on.
This game was a great learning opportunity for our younger players who will take plenty from this as we continue to grow and prepare for Round 1.
We have one last trial before the season starts against PAOC where will look to refine and improve from this game.
It was great seeing so many Eagles supporters last week and we hope to see even more for our last pre season hit out.
