Re: Eagles v Glenelg Thebarton March 12
Had a look at training last night trying to assess who might be available and who might not, for tomorrow's trial match against Glenelg. From the two training groups I think the changes will be, outs : D. Menzel (ankle), Ryan Bruce, Kai Pudney, Connor McLeod and Sam Michael. Ins: Stephen Mills, Matty Goldsworthy, Jack Hayes, P Giuffreda, Rory Lehman and possibly Tyson Stengle (do the Eagles know what's happening to Stengle ???). Still missing appear to be Luke Thompson, Cooper Sharman (ankle), Dane McFarlane (Darwin) Chris Hall, Jarrad Redden, Jackson Lee and Ethan Haylock.

I wouldn't get excited yet, the rumour going around Thebby was that, if Stengle gets cut he will be going to Melbourne to live with Eddy Betts, rumour only!!!!!!goddy11 wrote:C7 news saying Stengle will be cut by the Crows in the next few days. Will become an Eagle.

Re: Eagles v Glenelg Thebarton March 12
Eagles win: Eags 1.3 2.5 8.6 8.10 58
to Bays 1.2 2.2 4.4 6.9 45
Goal Kickers: Vonny 3, Stengle 2 T. Menzel 1, Cameron 1, Toumpas 1.
Best Players: West, K. Mutch, Knight, J Hayes, Stengle, von Bertouch Jungfer.
Rory Lehmann showed some good signs in the back lines for his first game. Should improve .
Best game I've seen West play in the league.
Clay Cameron did some good work and gradually adapting to the standard.
Stephen Mills at times looked to be league level. Played a bit in ruck and J. Hayes played mainly forward and took a couple of sensational marks.
Mitchell Mead again did some useful work, like the way he goes about it.
Riley Knight and Kobe Mutch played very well and showed a touch of class. Mutch is a very good runner. Stengle was a class above.
The third quarter when we kicked 6.1 was very very good.
The reserves were a little disappointing losing 8.2 to 9.7. Possibly Mitch Hardie was the best. Beecken put in a good effort and Chris Hall kicked two goals.

SEB Kerrish, just didn't do enough. Not ready yet.

Wimpy, Thanks for your report. From it, I gather that Cameron was a little better - being NEAFL Team of Year CHF and FF and clips of his sensational marking, I was hoping he would be an SANFL star but it seems not.
Our prospects have certainly improved if Stengle can fill the huge loss of James Rowe.

Hawke. Give them all time. If he has those credentials he will get better. Looking forward to him. This is starting to look like how Sheedy managed the side last season imho. The game against Adelaide should be a good test. I suspect they will field their best side available considering the AFL season starts in a couple of weeks and they have some underdone players.

I think Clay Cameron is getting used to being the third tall and not the main man. He did some very good stuff but wasn't consistent enough. Jack Hayes was excellent at CHF and Vonny was very good at FF. Would expect some rotation of these positions to give rest and if J. Hayes goes in to ruck. If we can keep the three talls consistently up forward we will be dangerous. At the start of the season if Redden is fit, I would just rotate West and Redden off the bench. Gradually the team is taking shape. Was disappointed with Pierce Seymour last night, his kicking was poor. We will just have to wait and see what happens with Stengle, but boy oh boy he did some real classy stuff last night.

Noticed a name Izaac Niemann in the U16. Has 1 goal at this point. Any relation to David?
