Rhyan reckons he could have played last week but they have given it another weeks rest. He says that it is only infamation and should be OK but you would not want to snap an achilles because that would be it for at least a year. Great recruit who would be valuable if fitgoddy11 wrote:Rhyan Mansell

I think that game meant nothing and we needed to rest some players

It looks like it is going to be very wet on Sunday, unfortunately.

How will the game plan go in the wet? There's only been one day where's been rain during the match, and the game was over by then (Glenelg).
We have the most handballs on average in the competition, and I can't see there being as many handballs in the wet in a finals match.

Might force players to actually kick the ball instead of being handball happy

It's the classic case of plan 'b', and how well the team adapts, is going to be the case this week.
This is a list of players finals experience, that has played either a reserves or league match this year (grand finals in brackets):
Comitiogianni: 2
Firns: 4
Giuffreda: 18 (2011, 2015, 2016)
Goldsworthy: 18 (2011, 2015, 2016)
Hall: 16 (2011, 2015, 2016)
J.Hayes: 5
N.Hayes: 9 (2015, 2016)
Haylock: 4
Heinjus: 1
Poole: 10 (2016)
Redden: 10 (2011, 2016)
Rowland: 6
Sharrad: 3
Sinor: 6 (2015)
Thompson: 18 (2011, 2015, 2016)
Toumpas: 3 (2011)
von Bertouch: 9 (2015, 2016)
West: 1
Obviously we can rule Hall out, and Haylock, Heinjus and Sharrad aren't likely to come into contention this week. This leaves 14 names. 11 of those who played in that final.

Eagles looked very slick and eager at training last night. Hall (of course) and Lonergan didn't train. Jack Hayes, Mansell, Jones and Goldsworthy all looked fit and very sharp.

2012 Elimination Final – North 15.5 (95) d Eagles 12.15 (87)
What They Said
Key Match-Ups
Jack Hayes (Eagles) v Tanner Smith (North)
He’s been touted by opposition coaches as the one player they would love to recruit and now the Eagles’ Jack Hayes is set to show why in the major round. Extremely versatile, Hayes is an incredibly strong contested mark in attack while also being able to relieve Jarrad Redden in the ruck. Missed Round 14 with a minor ankle injury but is fully fit for the Second Semi. Smith has missed the past two games with a foot injury but will be a welcome addition to the Roosters defence. Expect him to play a major role in trying to quell Hayes’ influence.
Jordan Foote (Eagles) v Andrew Moore (North)
These two are among the best big-bodied midfielders in the competition with their sizeable influence at the stoppages. Foote has been building strong form in the second half of the season while also being a danger around the goals as evidenced by the 3.4 he kicked against Glenelg in Round 12. Moore was viewed as one of the favourites for the Magarey Medal before injuring his hamstring in Round 11. The Roosters’ joint vice-captain has since missed the past three minor round matches giving him limited preparation heading into the Second Semi Final.
Lachlan Jones (Eagles) v Lewis Hender (North)
If this match-up eventuates it could be one of the most exciting in the Second Semi Final. Hender is an extremely dangerous and unpredictable premiership forward, who can play tall or small such is his spring in the air. Once the ball hits the ground he loves to go to work on his left foot from tight angles in the pocket. Jones, one of SA’s brightest AFL Draft prospects this year, has thrived on all challenges thrown at him by coach Jade Sheedy this year. The Power Next Generation Academy prospect loves to fly high for his marks while also spoiling strongly when the time comes. And with his raking kick from defence, the 18-year-old also provides plenty of rebound for the Eagles.

I don't know about the interstate recruits; Tsitas has also played in the NT.
My reason for bringing this up, was I've seen and read comments about players who played in past finals matches where it has gone pear shaped.

Jones didn't participate in the NAB AFL draft combine yesterday cos of his ankle so does this mean he's not playing or is or still having trouble with it

If it's going to be wet - they might opt for the bigger bodies of Firns and/or Lee?

Think as long as both A's and B's are going Fish will be fine, it gets tricky when its league players dropping back.

I think Fish would be OK in all circumstances, he attends all trainings and has just had a long term injury. There is a special permit committee to consider different circumstances and I'm sure if the league weren't playing he would have been given a permit.
