Crows have ruled out Petrenko due to sore groin.
Even bigger improvement required now

Ok, short and sharp here. This must not happen this weekend:
One of the players was confronted with three Norwood players, surrounded if you will. May have been Goldsworthy. He was caught holding the ball of course.
I look up across the field about 40 metres away from that and see four Eagles players by themselves! Not good enough especially in a final; and it's this sort of crap (is the only word I can put to it) that better not happen this weekend, win or lose!

Ok time to forget last Sunday and look towards South this Sunday.
I know that the boys are still smarting over last week. Hopefully enought to get over South!
Lets once again get right behind the team and barrack our butts off, because Im sure they will be playing theirs off.
I like the in's, just waiting to see who will get the final nod!

Re: Semi Final - 25/09/2011 Eagles v South AAMI Stadium 12:10pm
Well, my comment about "that crap" did in fact happen. But thankfully only for a portion of the match. Gee, I'd love to know just exactly what happened around the 9 minute mark of the 3rd quarter! Only five points in advance with South charging on towards taking the lead; then we get 12 out of the last 14 goals!
Was it just a lift in workrate, or did anyone pick up any changes made?
In the whole scheme of the match, I think our forward targets in Treeby (big surprise to see him get six!), Grocke, Staple and crumbers in Rimington (great to see him back playing well) and Lane seemed to be more looming in a forward line for South that basically consisted of Wundke and Ainger. Having a Ken Farmer Medallist in your forward line is great, but that sort of player still needs support from further down field and along side of.
Also, when you have a look at the stats, we had a lot of even contributors - Cica, Powell, Toumpas (won't be long before he is gone from us), Jarrad, Lewis etc. which at times ran riot. I notice that Parry was credited with 43 hit outs, a towelling to say the least (cheers to Ron for him). Redden continues to play 2nd ruckman well.
Since it was only a 2 1/2 quarter effort this time (up from none last week); the trend must continue next week - each opponent will be a lot harder than this week.

Re: Semi Final - 25/09/2011 Eagles v South AAMI Stadium 12:10pm
Also, that was our 3rd highest score in a final:
-24.10 (154) vs North, QF, 1992
-21.11 (137) vs Port, PF, 2001
-21.10 (136) vs South, 1SF, 2011
-20.13 (133) vs Port, 2SF, 1994
-20.7 (127) vs West, EF, 1996
-17.20 (122) vs Norwood, GF, 1993
They are the top 6, and all are in a different type of final.
The win today also ensures we keep our record of at least one final win in consecutive series intact - now 16.
-21.10 (136) is of course the highest score of the year, and the highest since Round 4 2010
-highest score vs South since Round 22 2007 - 25.9 (159)
That was our first meeting against South at Football Park since Round 19 1994. On that occasion we kicked 21.16 (142); 21.10 (136) is the next highest score. Also, the unbeaten record against South at Football Park continues - now stands at 7-0.

Watching the game at the ground I thought the change of wing for Jarrad and Little Jimmy had a big impact.Watching the replay Jarrad Almond had a big impact on the third term.
Hell I not sure what happened forwards worked Big Red worked in the ruck .Fabulous Phil Raymond (not sure y he was in a helmet) certainly had a big impact in that backline .That one hand and helmet mark was great !!!
Eagles live for another game got make the legs pay !!!!

Re: Semi Final - 25/09/2011 Eagles v South AAMI Stadium 12:10pm
6.1 from Treeby is the 3rd most goals kicked by an Eagles player in a final.
Fergus Watts of course kicked 10.2 in the 1st Semi of 2005 against North, and Mathew Stokes got 7.1 against Sturt in the Qualifying Final of 2004. Treebys previous best was 4.0 in the 1st Semi of 2007. Also, first time multiples to Thompson and Toumpas.
Also interesting that if Treeby kicks 3 more goals, he will have the most goals kicked by an Eagles player in finals matches:
Most Goals in Finals
Mark Passador 24
Leigh Treeby 22
Scott Morphett 21
Justin Cicolella 21
Adam Grocke 19
Nick Pesch 17
Ken McGregor 17
Chris Kluzek 16
David Niemann 15
Tim Inkster 15
Matthew Stokes 14
Sam Phillipou 14
Fergus Watts 14
Andrew Taylor 13
Gavin Colville 13
Stuart Nicol 12
Matthew Kluzek 12
