Quick versus Slow

If you look at quarters won this year, we are lucky to be in the 5!

Which is good and bad at the same time. Good that we are still winning despite it but bad that it continues to happen, and that 3 of our loses have been blowouts. The Unley, Noarlunga and Norwood games may be very important in 7 rounds time.

The problem that I'm sure the Club would have privately acknowledged before the season began is showing itself - and that is in the Centre Bounces and Ball-ups. Marc Bornholm is putting up a mighty effort, works his backside off, but simply has not the height and strength to match it for long periods against the classier ruckman - he did it for a half but then blew out. Our on ballers have been down for some time now. Poole's excellent early season form has dropped right away, Luke Powell and Boyd were stand-outs early but have dropped back. I missed Lewis's game against Power which must have been good but his season has been down. Perhaps Kane has been playing near his best but is a worker rather than a big possession winner.

Still Go Eagles! We do the best with what we've got.

Begs the question why we went in with only 1 ruckman surely Muller would have been better than nothing !!!

Against Port at Alberton Grocke was our second ruckman and did very well.Trouble is that rucking probably puts extra strain on his Achilles I would think.
Look forward to the return of Templeton to boost our defence,Goldsworthy as an extra crumber and midfielder and Lloyd adding flexibility and pace.
I thought both the reserves and league looked flat on Sunday.
