Reckon we might see Boyd's true colours pretty early this year. Quite a despised guy at Central (and South), and reckon they will target him - let's see how he goes with the heat on him.

Well what a game spiteful at times !! Centrals kicked the first two Eagles the next 7 !! Did the wind help Centrals in the third did the eagles stop !! Luke powell lifted in the third and Macgregor around the goals kicking 6 was great

hoping ainger will be ok and grocke doesn't get two many weeks. The super forwards lasted along time but hopefully we have them back and firing before long.
I do wonder if next week we will go with two ruckman or play a part timer.

I would expect Tasman Fitzgerald will come in for Ainger at CHF. Replacing Grocke with his dual role of forward-backup ruckman is hard if Heinjus hasn't recovered from his hamstring - Huppatz would have to come in.

Was thinking Killa would come in go to CHB and Vonnie to CHF

anyone know how many games grocke has been suspended for in the past? so we can shut mickyj up about the life thing he needs to think more positive than dwell on it
I don't think Fitzgerald is ready to play league yet but we don't have a lot of depth in the tall forwards

To be honest, I agree Grocke should get life for that weak incident. Disgusting image for our club. Also the deal to guarantee Aingers money regardless of playing will now come back to bite us. I suppose 3 goals is a pas, but bit of a concern around Wundkes body, only have 4 possessions for the day, and as per normal, no 1%ers. Never been so flat after beating the Doggies!

Ainger showed a great deal of courage as far as I am concerned (not convinced the Centrals player had only eyes for the ball). Good to see Grocke fly the flag in response, and show we just won't lay down and cop 'shit' from other teams.
Dobber I don't know why you bother to follow the Eagles, you do nothing but whinge no matter what they do on and off the field.

I can not believe anyone can stick up for what Grocke did. I'm disgusted to be a supporter of our club at the moment.

Re: Rnd 1 5/04/2014 Eagles V Central Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval 2.10pm
Surprised that McGregor's effort of 6 goals as a small forward on (almost) debut hasn't received more kudos. I noticed that he has been credited for 6 games for Glenelg but that was 3 years ago so he's virtually a rookie. We supporters are often critical of our recruiters - perhaps it's time to congratulate them in plucking an unknown from country footy such as he. Secondly, Templeton is showing that he is going to be a better player than his rating at Centrals, so well done. Of course, we paid big dollars for Boyd and Wundke but we got the best going around.
Can't understand Dobber's attitude re Wundke - he's always been that size playing for South and the State Team - his body weight and strength is his asset. And to keep on about Ainger!! - Andrew has done everything we could expect last year, and this year looked even better against the Crows and Norwood in spirited trial games - has stopped playing for frees and has been aggressively attacking the footy - disappointing at this unlucky setback (contact injury).
Don't mind the suggestion of Jake Von Bertoch switching to CHF even though it leaves our backline vulnerable - probably easier to fill CHB than CHF. Whatever the moves, we will be needing them to be thought of as being moves we're going to stick with for 5-6 weeks losing Ainger and Grocke. How far away are Culley and Heinjus from resuming?

Silly bugger that I am!! Just looked on the Eagles website and answered my own question
Injuries:
Ainger (concussion) 1 week (but didn't he hurt his shoulder as well)
Culley (back) 4 weeks
Heinjus (hamstring) 1 week

Have not been able to see the reserves so far this year, can anyone give some information on number 43,M.Raymond? Noticed he has been 1st and 2nd best player in his 2 reserves games so far this year.
On the game very impressed with Von Bertouch at half back, and I still cannot believe Centrals could get rid of Boyd and Templeton in their current situation.

I saw that Collier incident he had an opportunity to take out Ainger and he did it...there's no doubt there was intent there...no free kick paid it was absolute disgrace and have no doubt that it contributed to the incident that followed. That umpire should be banished and never seen again

I don't usually agree with Rowie but this whole incident is making me so god damn mad...Grocke is being persacuted in the media...the Centrals Morons on SA Footy and all the other clubs supporters jealous of our success....gives me the s**ts...anything to bring down this club. The agenda on 5AA this morning joke....interviewing one of the biggest thugs and saying he should be banned for life. Hopefully the tribunal remain unbiased in this situation and don't listen to all this crap that's going on.
