A very big test this week !!

Once again, like the win against South, the biggest danger is taking this game easier than coming off a loss...I suspect the performance this week gone was related to the previous week i.e. a reaction.

First of all, if there ever was incentive to win, it would be in your captains 200th match for the club.
Secondly, we have not won at this venue since 2004 - 9 matches. This is our longest losing streak at any venue. The previous was 8 matches at Alberton between Round 3 1992 and Round 1 1998.
Thirdly, the simple fact is that so far this season, just once has a team outside the top four lost to anyone out of it. If we are to gain at least third place this year, we need to definitely win all matches against clubs outside the top three.
Fourthly, there is not a better opportunity to defeat the Dogs at their home venue. It's still going to be very tough to do so, but our best should be good enough.
Last of all, should West defeat North, a victory here will mean we go a game clear in 3rd place.

Spelly - i think it is Scott Lewis 100th - probably most with us?

Yes, 74 matches as of now, with 21 at West and 4 at Glenelg.

Congratulations to Luke & Scott two great Eagle boys, 300 games between them. That loyalty helps to make a great footy club.
My memory isn't the best but I'm sure 'Spelly' will check if I'm correct.
I think our little champ Cicca played his 200th game at Elizabeth.
I remember the announcer congratulating him when the Eagles ran onto the oval. At the time I thought it was terrific for an opposition club to acknowledge this achievement. Unfortunately we didn't win for Cicca, so look forward to reversing that result for Luke & Scott.

I think if it's wet all day it will favour the Dogs.
I would feel more confident if it was dry, but I'm never confident out there.

Even if we were top and them bottom, I reckon it would still be 50/50. It's seems so hard for us to win out there.

If another big strong defender with a good leg is needed, why not Borholm for a defence spot? He's hitting good form now starring back at the twos but the rucks seem settled now with Heinjus improving.
