Because Sturt (and North, Norwood) represent the high end of town, they have a lot more good footballers in the College system than Eagles, Cdntrals, South, West. Glenelg have the rich football nursery of Sacred College. Eagles only have St Michaels and most of their talent is on display with Eagles.

The finals will sort all this out. All good players are usually available for finals. Also as teams in higher grades don't make finals or they drop out of finals, the under !8s playing at a higher level drop back to the U18s if still left in the finals. There is now no restriction about qualifying games, if you are under 18 you can play U18 finals.
The Eagles have never had their best U18 22 play together because of college football, injuries and playing at a higher level. I still think our U18s are a very good team and have beaten Glenelg once this season.

I don't want to disagree with you "hawke" but not all Eagles U18's college players go to St Michael's. I get the inference from your post that the Eagles team would be more stable because they have less college players than Sturt, Norwood, North and Glenelg. I disagree with this as the Eagles try to provide opportunity to as many as possible, this is shown by playing 48 different players in their U18s so far this season.
Really enjoy your posts.

Wimpy,
There was no inference of stability or otherwise. The Eagles do an excellent job with their juniors. I was suggesting that all is not lost for Sturt - some good junior Sturt footballers playing first 18 football (for PAC, St Peters etc) don't present in the U18s. Hence, why AFL recruiters regularly attend College matches.
(I think that Kossey Pickett and Riley Knight were at PAC in their last 1-2 years of High School).
