Re: North V Eagles Prospect Oval 7 August
Here’s the SANFL statement for this week
Wednesday, August 4
SANFL is pleased to advise that SA Health has today granted approval for crowds of 50 per cent venue capacity at SANFL matches this weekend.
Under the easing of restrictions, SANFL Clubs will be permitted to operate match days this Saturday, August 7 under their existing Covid Management Plans but with reduced capacity, which is in line with the one person per two sqm density.
SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said this effectively will allow crowds of between 3,000 and 4000, depending on the capacity of each of the four host clubs’ venues – Central District, Glenelg, North Adelaide and West Adelaide.
The SANFL showdown between Adelaide and Port Adelaide, the curtain raiser to the AFL Showdown at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, will be played with no crowd. The match will be broadcast live and on demand on SANFL Digital Pass, theadvertiser.com.au and radio SEN SA.
Mr Chandler said the decision to allow crowds at SANFL Club venues was welcome news on the back of yesterday’s announcement that up to 1000 spectators would be permitted to attend community football matches in SA this weekend.
He said the League, on behalf of SANFL Clubs, thanked loyal Club Members and supporters for their ongoing patience and understanding as they continue to work through the challenges of safely delivering a full season of football in a Covid environment.
“We’re privileged and thrilled to have footy back being played in South Australia this weekend with spectators, however ensuring the health and safety of participants, volunteers, supporters and the broader community remains paramount,” Mr Chandler said.
In line with State Government directions, masks must be worn at all times by spectators at outdoor sporting events, including SANFL matches, except while eating or drinking.
Mr Chandler said he strongly encouraged everyone in the football community to continue to do the right thing when attending matches this weekend and adhere to the measures put in place by SA Health and SAPOL to allow competitive sport to safely resume.
These include wearing a mask, QR Code (or manual sheet) check ins, social distancing, seated food and beverage consumption and hygiene.
“Everyone attending matches this weekend must play their part in helping to mitigate any risk of transmission of COVID-19 and assist with any requirement for future contact tracing,” he said.
All matches are available live and on demand on SANFL Digital Pass.
Key match day information:
Spectators at SANFL matches are permitted based on density of 1 person per 2sqm (between 3,000 and 4,000 max depending on stadium capacity)
Masks are mandatory for spectators
All consumption of food and beverage must be seated
Grandstand seating limited to 1 person per 2sqm
COVIDSafe protocols apply – QR Code check-in, COVID Marshals in attendance, 1.5m physical distancing

Anyone have any feedback from the club on how training has been after a long lay off.

I found it a poor game yesterday. NA defense destroyed our forward line. A bit worrying.

Re: North V Eagles Prospect Oval 7 August
Went to training Wednesday night but couldn't get on forum to report.
Training looked enthusiastic, ground very heavy. McFarlane didn't do any work, both Goldy and Cameron ran a few laps but still look a fair way off. West had his knee heavily taped and just did a few laps. I don't know but I'm guessing he might have had a little op. during the break.
Yesterday the team looked a little bit rusty. I thought we controlled the first half and most probably didn't put enough on the score board.

Re: North V Eagles Prospect Oval 7 August
Definitely a game of two halves, and for alot of the day a very defensive game from both sides. The tide seemed to turn a little after the incident with Vonnie and Allmond. They are a good side and when they are playing well they are hard to beat on their home deck, the goal after the siren at 3QT really got them up and about. Keenan Ramsey their version of Hayesy seemed to mark everything that went near him.
After Troy Menzel's shot missed at the 6 min mark of the last, there were no more scores for 15 minutes, had that been a goal who knows what would have happened.
Important win for the ressies yesterday with the next 2 games against Sturt and then Centrals in the last round who currently sit above and below us on the ladder.
