Vale Barry McKenzie

WWTFC is saddened to hear of the passing of former West Torrens player Barry McKenzie.

Barry was recruited from Fitzroy Football Club to West Torrens where he played 77 games over his 3 year career; spanning from 1973 – 1976. He was also the West Torrens Club Champion in 1973, and represented SA in the State Game against Victoria in 1973.

Residing back in Victoria, he travels to South Australia frequently to attend the former West Torrens Football Club quarterly gatherings.

Condolences go to his family and friends. He will be sadly missed.

Sad to hear of his passing. Too many club champs not with us. Was a very good player at WT. Does anyone know his age?

B 15th August 1945
Suffered a stroke on Tuesday 6th July and passed away that day
Barry was intending to attend the "Gathering of old Eagles" with his wife today (12th July) as they regularly did travel over from Castlemaine Victoria in their caravan
A minutes silence was observed at the meeting in his memory
