Re: Trial 2 11/3/16 Eagles v Norwood
Star Eagles trio Michael Wundke, Luke Thompson and Matthew Goldsworthy will make their comeback through the Reserves against Norwood at Coopers Stadium on Friday night.
Triple Ken Farmer Medallist Wundke has been recovering from shoulder surgery while running half-back Goldsworthy has been shrugging off an adductor complaint.
Co-captain Thompson, who has had his workload managed during summer, will also build fitness in the seconds.
Veteran Luke Jarrad will return to action at League level after being rested last weekend while exciting youngster Nick Yarran will be handed a golden opportunity to impress League coach Michael Godden against the Redlegs.
League
Jarrad, O’Brien, Petrenko, Redden, N. Hayes, Boyd, Hall, Allmond, Ainger, Borholm, P. Raymond, Appleton, Summerton, Yarran, Poole, Whittlesea, G. Ellis, Sinor, Giuffreda, Gaffney, J. Hayes.
Reserves
Schwarz, Wundke, Goldsworthy, Enright, M. Raymond, B. Ellis, Woods, Georgeson, Elsworthy, Thompson, Proctor, Hoare, Press, Firns, Rowland, Jolly, Heinjus, Westbrook, Williams, Cardone, Batley, L. Hayes, Raikiwasa, Baqeri, Smith.

Re: Trial 2 11/3/16 Eagles v Norwood
Very strong Norwood line up who no doubt will be out for a big final tune up before round 1.
So will be good to see how a far from full strength Eagles team handle this match.

In short....
First half good, second half not so good.
Had enough of the ball and more inside 50's but wasted it, they were much more efficient going forward.
O'Brien had over 30 touches.
Dont remember the final score was about 6 or 7 goal loss.
Thommo, Goldy and Wundke played in the 2's

Schwarz played early too. And no VB or Lewy.
Agreed, I wax pretty impressed with first half... But a far superior Norwood outfit on the night got right on top in the second half.
Mind you, we literally gave them 4-5 goals with direct turnovers from bad skills in defensive 50 under virtually no pressure.
So easy enough to tidy up, and plenty of personel to come back in.
Would like to see a more settled line-up and dress rehearsal for round 1 in our final trial... If possible.
