Going to have to be a first this year - we played against 13 AFL players last time and won; no one has beaten them with more than that this year - there's 17 this time, plus Callinan. That's who is in the starting 18.

i'm feeling it's going to be a tough ask... wouldn't expect Boyd to play.
But from all reports, the boys are pumped to have a real crack and send a message to the rest of the comp, as well as effectively ending Adelaide's charge to the finals.

You beauty! What a gutsy win; at a cost, but also the minor premiership which means an important break coming into the finals.

Thommo should be right... Not sure about Loccy - hope it's not too serious.

Great second half by the boys to show that todays opposition are just as prone to skill errors when the pressure is applied as the other teams are. Yeah we made errors today but we took the game on and played "brave" footy, to use the AFL buzz word ;-)
Think many people might underestimate how much work SANFL players and coaches put in on fitness, rehab, training and preparation each week, just because a player is AFL listed it doesn't make them super human.
Great effort by the whole club so far this year, to be top in all 3 grades, but in 3 weeks time that counts for little.
Without getting political I do wonder if we would have been experiencing the same success with 14 players we had little control over?

What a game enjoyed reading an article after the game , the players decided they werent going to face Adelaide in the finals.
what a way to end Adelaides season . And you could see our players growing in confidence as the game went on.
Where would we have been without Allmond yesterday !!
Must admit i went over the top and made some old Crows fans uncomfortable in the grandstand . Then again its our home our league not theirs lol

We did have plenty of AFL listed players in 2006 and 2011. But if there is one thing I don't mind about the current set up, it is the more stable side. That would be the only thing I like about it all.

There is absolutely nothing I like about having to play against professionally paid opponents even if we beat them

No, but it made the win all that much sweeter. That's one of the strongest sides they have put up this year and we beat them.
The other side of it too is that on another day they could have 8-9 AFL players only and they'd get thrashed.

It think the co-operation from the Crows and Port with releasing players certainly started to drop off a bit by 2011 and got worse in those last 2 years of the old system, it would be interesting how things would be now had it continued.
I'm probably one of the odd ones out with the whole situation as I have no problem with it now and didn't from the beginning, this year I think we can see the benefit of it for our club (and a couple of others) and thats what concerns me, not what the others are doing.

Would still like to see a limit on the AFL listed players that are allowed to play in finals for both the Power and the Crows. If I recall some years ago the VFL placed a limit of 12 AFL listed players allowed to play in finals, but I don't think that rule applies now. From a personal point of view I believe that a maximum of 14 should apply and qualification rules tightened. I think it is now pretty apparent that both clubs certainly do not need a "leadership" player any longer when one sees the number of experienced players running around in their reserves.

I reckon 10 AFL players max in finals.
It's bad enough it's unlimited throughout the season costing teams ladder positions...

But you could always do what I did made their fans feel uncomfortable and barrack extra hard for the Eagles !!
Let's say I almost lost my voice lol
Seeing we can't get rid of them make them feel so unwanted they don't turn up
