Woodville-West Torrens has refused to risk key forward Michael Wundke against Glenelg at Maughan Thiem Hyundai Oval on Saturday.
Wundke, who has been sidelined with a calf ailment, will spend at least another week in the casualty ward as he prepares to return to the league line-up.
Midfielder Jarred Allmond is the only addition to the Eagles’ 22-man squad to face the Tigers, with the speedy left-footer added to the extended interchange bench.
Essendon recruit Fraser Thurlow will play his first official game for the Eagles when he lines up as the first ruck in the Reserves.
League
F: Dunstan, Ainger, Poole
HF: McGregor, Whittlesea, N. Hayes

Well a win is a win but a crappy 4 quarter effort by the Eagles.
Thought it smelt like the west game all over again.
Where the boys tired after three big weeks in a row .
And Thurlow looked a class above in the seconds

If not for the 3rd qtr and conceding final 2 goals, it should've been a handy 50-60 point win.
But job done... It's been a tough month and we'll take 4-1 to start any year. Gotta get it done against North now before a well earned rest.

First quarter into the breeze was the difference on a day with tricky conditions.
Third quarter wasn't flash but we still won the other the other 3.
Don't think the Bays will be the worst opposition we will face this year.

Fraser Thurlow made an impressive Seconds debut. Accepting it was only Seconds standard, Glenelg still had some big bodies out there and it would have brought a smile to the Eagle's coaching staff to see him jump high in a pack of 4 players in front of the southern goals to "clunk" a big mark. Took a couple more pack marks, showed he can leap at centre-bounces despite his 105kg. Powerful unit who holds his ground at boundary throw-ins and palms ball well. Obviously at his size, he's not quick but has footy "smarts" with quick, decisive handball. Appeared to be covering the ground well in the last quarter, several times running hard into defence to help out the full back-line.
With Whittlesea (who's been backing up Bornholm) rolling an ankle, Eagles will be tempted to play Thurlow this week.
As Thurlow gets fitter, Marc Bornholm may spend more time as the third tall forward(and backup ruckman). Reckon Bornholm up forward (remembering that he came to the club as a CHF) could provide a perfect contrast of style to complement Wundke and Ainger.

My mail is Bomber played a lot of games at CHB for Westies seconds . The one player who hated playing on him was Ainger in his days at South .Premiers wrote:Fraser Thurlow made an impressive Seconds debut. I think alot of players would find Bomber difficult to play on, his fitness is good, he's mobile, takes a good catch, he's a good kick and he kicks goals, would stretch alot of teams defences if he rests forward with Ainger and Wundke and would equally useful to take a big mark down back.

I'm an absolute fan of BOMBER, has a fantastic attitude and his never say die approach is great to watch. Would be a threat where ever he plays on the field.
