Stats for the side to make sure does not happen this year
Since 1991, the Eagles have:
-Never finished on the bottom of the League ladder
-Never had the worst attack in the competition
-Never scored the lowest score for the season
-Never had the Reserves finish below 7th
-Never finished lower than 7th in the Stanley H. Lewis trophy
One of these is almost a certainty. The others are either highly certain or possible. I don't want to see any of these, especially the first point.
In addition:
The lowest points for at the end of the season is 1491 in 1997; 215 goals and 201 behinds.
With four matches to go, the tally this year is 169 goals 160 behinds.
In the last four matches to avoid this, we will need to score 318 points.
Or 79.5 points per match.

There was one other thing I did not put there at the time. We have always been in the five at least once during any season. That box has now been ticked.
As has the wooden spoon avoidance.

Re: Stats for the side to make sure does not happen this year
We need to score 75 points to avoid that 1997 low of 1491 points.
The worst attacking side in the competition is a close fought thing, with perhaps the finals coming into play to decide that - West is the worst attacking side in the league currently, despite being 3rd!
West - 1401
Sturt - 1409
Eagles - 1417
Glenelg - 1440
The Reserves should not finish below 7th
I don't think we can finish lower than 7th in the Stanley H Lewis either, though I have not looked at that properly
We still have the lowest score in the League this year, and unless there is a very dirty day weather wise in the finals, that will be the thing that cannot be avoided.

Re: Stats for the side to make sure does not happen this year
Well, I didn't bank on West Adelaide having a dirty day themselves - the lowest score for this year now belongs to them! And also, on average, they will certainly also have the worst attack for the year.
So, everything except the lowest club record attacking average for the year was avoided.
