Re: Round1 2012 Eagles V Port
email from club
Where were you when the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club played its first match under lights at Thebarton Oval?
The date was March 23rd, 2012 and was against the Port Adelaide Football Club……
Well, with two days to go before this momentous occasion, we’re hoping that you’ll be able to say in future years that "you were there!"
The Club has invested heavily in bringing in infrastructure (toilets and canteen facilities) to the Oval for this match to maintain the standards we set ourselves for the Match Day Experience of our patrons. We’ve based this infrastructure on the crowd being in excess of 5000 people and this is where we need the help of our members.
We’re asking you Michael, as a member of our Club to support this event by being there on Friday and where possible, bringing others to what should be a fantastic way to kick off the 2012 season – with a win against the Port Adelaide Football Club.
In terms of logistics for the evening, please note that this is an Eagles home match so if you have purchased Home Match or Season Tickets they are valid for this game.
If you have pre-purchased 2012 Grandstand seating in either the Percy Fox or Barry Jarman Stands at Unleash Solar Oval @ Woodville, the Hank Brothers Stand will be available for you to sit in for this game.
General public Grandstand seats will be available to purchase for the Phil Ridings stand on the night from the SANFL attendants in front of the Grandstand and from the Merchandise tent at the Northern end of the ground.
Public parking will be available in Kings Reserve (off Ashwin Parade). Dog Obedience Carpark ticket holders at Woodville will be able to use their tickets for the Kings Reserve Carpark at Thebarton as well.
Gates open from 4.30pm with the Reserves game kicking off at 4.55pm and the league commencing at 7.40pm.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Regards
WWTFC

Yes that is a good looking team, thou Ports team looks good on paper as well.
Where is Rowntree and Hoban?
I would be using Hoban as the 2nd ruck.

Re: Round1 2012 Eagles V Port
Ouch !!! That was ugly.
One of the poorest efforts I've seen in a long time.
Our skills and decision making were very substandard .
It looked like Men v boys at times.
Port were very good and should make the five.
Get the bad ones out the way early.

I saw the post & wondered what I had missed also. Didn't see anything happen Friday night. Hopefully he doesn't appear in the injury list on our website tomorrow.BirdOfPrey wrote:Is Staple injured?

28/03/2012 - Cicolella found guilty at Round 1 Tribunal
by Louise Kosta | Mar 28, 2012
The WWTFC can confirm that Justin Cicolella was found guilty of a Level 1 striking charge at last night’s SANFL tribunal hearing.
The SANFL review panel interpreted the incident as a Level 2 striking charge as in their view Justin’s action was Intentional, with contact made to the body of a low impact, which amounted to 125 points. A 10% loading was added, as were 80 carry over points from a prior offence in 2011. The total points therefore amounted to 217.5 with the option of a 25% deduction for an early guilty plea.
The Club contested the charge on the basis that the impact was minimal and therefore should not be considered a striking offence.
The tribunal panel disagreed with the view of the Club finding Justin guilty of striking although downgrading the incident to a Level 1 striking charge. This means he will miss 1 match with 68 carry over points.
The Club is bitterly disappointed with the tribunal’s decision and in being without Justin for our round 3 match versus Norwood.
Chris Kane (Eagles)
Verdict: Guilty
Level 1 Rough Conduct
125 Points
Loading 20% 1 Match in 2010 and 1 Match in 2009
Add 25 Points = 150
Deduct 25% for Guilty Plea
150 – 25% (37.5) = 112.5
1 Match with 12.5 Points carried over
Chris Kane is guilty of rough conduct
– dangerous tackle as it was unreasonable in the circumstances.
The tackle was of an inherently dangerous kind and there is a second lifting action before bringing the player to the ground with force
