Ok after today's performance the eagles will need to work on their game .

4 talls maybe too many up forward, but probably depends what happens with Salts.

I really hope the number of folk in the blue gold and green evident at noarlunga turn up at home this Sunday.

We were in pretty good numbers by the colours being worn and we need to get out in force as i reckon there will be a few West Adelaide fans in attendance seeing they had the bye.

Bring a mate promotion and is a Past Players day so lets hope we have a really good turnout

Possibly James Stewart to take James Rimington's back pocket spot this week - Rimington, a good player, but hasn't the explosive pace/agility for the quick, elusive opposing rover.

Also think it's time to give Corbett a go with his run and penetrating kick, probably at the expense of Staple.

McKenzie, judged by his high standards, hasn't produced a big game yet and the team badly needs it - after 4 games, he should have picked up match fitness; Leigh Treeby has been ordinary, fumbling, over-running the ball and miskicking. The other leaders have generally performed well - Cicollela, Powell, Grocke, Jarrad. Get McKenzie and Treeby back to somewhere near their better form and we'll be hard to stop.

What's Life going to be like for the Eagles after Nick Salter? Worried that should he eventually be taken by Power, we look thin up forward.

Didn't see the Seconds but from accounts, Jarrad Wright played well although naturally short of fitness with his first run. Give him another 2 games and expect him to be playing HF in the A's. Another bad game by Petrenko, may see him return to the Eagles releasing Jimmy Stewart to partner Banner on-ball.

Macca although he hasnt had a big one yet has still been very important, we may have lost by more if not for some of his work Monday.

If Salts does manage to get a gig (it cant be far off) would expect Welshy to take up the slack, he hasnt kicked many yet but he has been working hard...and then the door will open for someone to take an opportunity.... Aaron Day, Hilly or Stapes maybe.

Boofa was great in the 2's...was on the bottom of lots of packs trying to get the ball out and certainaly didn't look like a bloke who had missed for so long. Dont think we have seen the best of him yet...he had a cracker a couple of years ago against Centrals at Woody Oval after a run of good games in the 2's after injury but then got injured again the week after IIRC he will be a handy inclusion to take a bit of load off in the middle if he can stay fit.

As for Pup..don't think we will see him now that Knighta is injured again..he didn't look right when he played for us and hasnt since so can't say i was shocked to hear he would miss again with his ankle injury.

Best balanced side so far this year in my opinion.Like the three talls and three smalls up forward. No doubt in my mind Treeby plays his best football on a wing and not on the ball and look forward to more input from him and few others this week.If we come to play very confident we can win this.

Agree Columbo with your comment on Jarrad Wright's game against Centrals 2 years ago when he was brought into the side a bit underdone, came off the bench in the second quarter and looked classy. Remember him gathering the ball at CHB running through the midfield when the Gowan brothers tried to crunch him from either side, sidestepped through them effortlessly and delivered the ball lace up to the FF. Sure, they say, one good sign in 2 years doesn't give us much to hang our hat on but injuries have wrecked him. Hoping for better luck.

With no Ronaldson, no Lobbe, this gives big Seb Guilhaus a chance to really influence this game. He's been getting better with each week both in hit-outs, overhead marks and disposals. At 23 years of age, capable of developing into an important asset by the end of the season if he continues this improvement.
Flattered the selectors saw it as I did - J Stewart for Rimington. Ezard in the forward pocket and their other smalls will be better matched with Stewart. Come on Treebs!, give us a good game tomorrow, otherwise Corbett's a better bet for the wing.
Two players whose footy careers have not appeared tohave progressed are Jarred Polec, presently playing average footy in the U18s when last year, he looked to be one of the better youngsters in SANFL and AFL draft material this year and Dawson who after being anAFL rookie is languishing on the bench for the Seconds.
Another problem is where does ruckman Redden fit in with the Eagles this season and next with Guilhaus doing well (with a more mature body than Redden) and Parry likely to take the No1 role. I would be thinking that the Power might soon be asking for Redden to be transferred to another Club to advance his career. More so next year when Jacob is delisted from Carlton and may want to return - because Parry is such a versatile player, he could handle CHF or CHB allowing another giant like Jacob but Redden still looks to be 7kg away from holding his ground.
While on the subject of interststers, has anyone heard how the Eagles Chris Hall in Perth is going with his WAFLside; now in his second season without an AFL appearance, its an important time for him and Fremantle - remember him as a very quick and skilfull player, an asset for the Eagles.

I think eagle 14 or wimpy have heard about Chris Hall I think one of them told me he'd been badly sick last year.
Dont agree with u re Corbet very good seconds player not last week .But is slow IMHO for SANFl league .
Redden has been having a fair few shots at goal at training .could he just be a tall forward.Dawson looks better on a HFF IMHO.

According the the East Fremantle website Chris played 11 games up until round 14 of last season but then missed the rest of the year. He averaged about 13-14 touches a game, he has played two games this year and had 19 touches in Round 2 and 20 last week, so hopefully for his sake he can string some good games together...may find it hard to push into the Freo side at the moment though.

He would have played some of those games last year with Paul Lindsay who made a return to his original club, i read somewhere that Linds was going around again this year but he doesn't look to have played yet. He played 19 games last year and had 531 hitouts..kicked 12 goals and had 31 Frees Against...(nothing changes) although he did get 22 frees...(wouldn't have got that many in all the years he was with us!!!)
