Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
I note that Brinker-Ritchie was listed as indefinite the each week across the entire season until 2 weeks ago when they changed the status update to 'season'.
So what's he up to? Has been involved at training in any way i.e. running laps? Is he even going to play again?
Another big decision for the Eagles looming because you'd think if he can't demonstrate to the club in the next 2 months that he is going to be ready for Round 1 2025 that the Eagles will have to assume he won't play for us next year and we will need to go out and recruit a ruckman.

We need another ruckman anyway as surely Big Red is going around again

Alot of wild and wooly and wet weather predicted for Sat and Sun this weekend. Does this throw a lot of uncertainty into the finals games?

Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
Selectors hat on.
F: McKay Wheare Cooke
HF: Morris Ballenden McFarlane
C: Beattie Rowe Herbert
HB: Hansen Fleeton Litster
B: Moore Thompson Rowland
R: Redden Sinor Williams
I: Pearce Firns Goldsworthy D'Aloia
In: Herbert, McFarlane, W.Pearce, Moore
Out: Buck, Nicholls, Hann, Barkla
4 quarters of fight please Eagles.
Herbert available from injury, bring back in.
McFarlane with 4 goals in the reserves on the weekend, bring him in as a small forward.
Will Pearce, it sounds like he has found some form on ball in the reserves, bring him in, his upside is too good to ignore. Give him a chance on the wing and on-ball.
Jordan Moore, he's been solid down back all year and Firns got monstered by the Norwood forward on the weekend and Fleeton barely touched it, bring him back in. Especially against Glenelg's tall forwards.

I can't argue with any of that Aerie. It's the best team we are able to put together with the cattle we have.
Interesting that you've got D'Aloia on the bench. Quite a fall from grace. I don't disagree by the way.
Pearce as an onballer. Why not? Might as well roll the dice. At least he can deliver the footy well.

I will be shot down here aerie good side no second ruck so BALLENDEN dare I say rest Redden in the pocket when not rucking . Or will he be to tall in the weather conditions we lacked so much spirit will to fight against Norwood

Redden doesn't look too capable, or interested, in moving very much. I don't think he'd be effective forward any more. He is still handy, even very good, in the ruck taps, but I feel he has lost the enthusiasm he had earlier in the year as the season has progressed. I'd have him for 2025 if he committed fully (i.e. didn't prioritise country footy over playing league footy), but I doubt he'd go on with how this season has finished.

Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
Reddo is done at the end of the season, posted on Instagram on Saturday night. I don’t think the plan was that he would have played 15 games this year, finished up 3rd in hit outs for the minor round.

Not really surprising I guess. He actually looked a lot fitter at the beginning of the season than he does now. It's evident he is clearly struggling to get around the ground as the season has gone on - I wonder whether his knees and back are giving him trouble? Still a force to be reckoned with at the centre bounces though and if not for him we'd have lost even more games than we have this season.

Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
We need it to snow on Sunday for us to have any chance of winning. Genelg may not have a Ruckman with McGree under an injury cloud but Mr Bean can easily fill that void and still have the likes of Reynolds, Holder and my favourite opposition player in the SANFL, Matthew Allen, kicking the 7 goals needed to beat us. Hope I'm proven wrong!

As a warm-up to Sunday's League final, get to Unley Oval and watch our U18s vs Sturt at 10.00am ( too far to travel to Noarlunga for the Seconds).

The Eagles U18 team looks very strong, all the major players are back.
Unfortunately the U18 and Reserves partly crossover, very poor programming.

Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
If it’s wet and windy, it might bring out the best in Barkla, Buck, Nicholls, etc. My only concern might be Wheare. Hope he proves me wrong.
Interesting to see the promotions from the Resies are the 4 “M’s”!
I think we can knock them off.

Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
As most of us were originally a West Torrens or Woodville supporter and finals were scarce let's get along and support the lads. Finals are never a given and we have proved more than capable in patches this season. If we can string some patches together we'll be right. Go Eagles!

Agreed. WE need to support the guys through thick and thin. We've had both this year. Let the good times roll!!

Re: Elimination Final Glenelg v Eagles Sunday 1st September
The 2 games during the minor round were decided by 11 points and 12 points their way.
The second game was played with quite a strong northerly blowing which resulted in 15 of 17 goals being kicked to the southern end, we could end up with quite similar conditions on Sunday.

Maybe hedging bets. Put class player in U18s to maybe get a win to advance?

I wonder if Welsh was available as the Crows are not playing.
