Re: South v Eagles Flinders university stadium 17 August
Aside from getting the points the most important thing for the team was getting back some confidence and belief.
Still a huge amount of improvement required. I thought it was only our last quarter and a half that was at the level we need.
Rowe played his best game for weeks and was our best by some margin. Agreed that Cook played well.
With the Crows AFL team getting some injuries hopefully this removes some players from their SANFL side to make Sturt's job easier. But lets not put the destiny of our club in the hands of other results. We have a great record against Norwood and always go well against them. Norwood may be slacking off a bit in the last round, knowing they will be playing finals. If we can bring the attitude we can beat them.

Cooke did appear watching on the App to play one of his best games in the league . He almost pulled off goal of the day taking the ball from the through in .wimpy wrote:It appears when Redden and Rowey dominate we play well.
They both were standouts.
Bailey Hann played easily his best game for the Eagles.
Sam Rowlands has had a pretty good second half of the season.
Finally the selection group has realised that they need to keep persisting with Lukas Cooke and give him some security by giving him continuous games. I thought he was excellent with his 10 marks.
Let's hope with Weckert, Wheare, Cooke and possibly West we might find some strong marking options up forward.
Wimpy is correct re Redden and Rowe.
This allows other players to perform better like Mackay had moments Goldy played an awesome fourth quarter .

Has Redden lost more weight in the last few weeks. He appeared thinner on the app.

Another one of those "If" questions?
What IF Redden hadn't missed some vital games during the year ? Also, James Rowe is always going to do damage when not tagged - better sides tag him right out of the game.
Can the Club convince the affable Jarrad Redden to go again for another season - he is the 2nd or 3rd Best ruckman in SANFL and with due respect, our ruck prospects look bleak without him.

The club needs to recruit well....ruck and big players. Redden gives his best, but really he was a fill-in for desperate times. Time to give the old fella rest in the country.

And at least we dont have the longest losing streak in the league for the season.
Congrats to the reserves and U18s for making the finals

At least we can be sure that Sturt will be trying their hardest to beat Adelaide next week so that they can regain top spot for the finals. Not a dead rubber in that game (unless of course Adelaide head off to hospital for arms, shoulder, knees etc to be repaired for draft prospects. Maybe the draft is sometimes good?)

Of course using that logic Norwood will also be trying their best to beat us to retain top spot !!
But yes, point taken.

But if Adelaide lose, it doesnt matter what "happens" to us. Our % keeps us in five.
But it would also be nice to win.
