Eagles in academies
Jaimi Tabb has become the Woodville West Torrens Football Club's first women's player selected in the NAB AFL Women's Academy after being accepted into the level two squad for 2019. Academy members will receive a NAB AFL Women’s Academy scholarship that provides high performance camps and personal development opportunities over a 12-month period as well as getting the opportunity to take part in some AFLW club training sessions throughout the AFLW preseason.
The Club has also had five players, Trent Burgoyne, Jamie Coff, Lachlan McNeil, Jackson Mead and Kysaiah Pickett, included in the expanded 2018-2019 NAB AFL Academy under the revamped program for elite footballers. The Academy now consists of five hubs across Australia with the South Australian Hub to be coached by SA Under 18 coach Tony Bamford. The SA Hub will head to Alice Springs for a five-day training camp in the first week of December. The talented teenagers will then train at both the Crows and Power headquarters throughout December and January before undertaking further Adelaide-based training camps in late January and mid April.
Taj Schofield, recently relocated from Western Australia, has also been selected in the SA Hub and will commence playing with the Club in 2019.
The Club wishes to congratulate all seven players for being selected in the Academies and welcome Taj to the Eagles.
