Woodville-West Torrens is sweating on the availability of co-captain Pat Giuffreda for Friday night’s clash against Glenelg at Gliderol Stadium.
Giuffreda is nervously waiting to learn when he will be at the birth of his child as his partner is due to be induced on Friday.
‘’It will all depend on how quickly the little one decides to come out,’’ Eagles football manager Luke Powell said.
‘’We fully support Pat wishing to be at the birth of his child as family takes priority in this situation.’’
Triple Ken Farmer Medallist and premiership wingman Scott Lewis will miss the game with hamstring issues, Wundke unlikely to play again until after the West End State match on May 29.
Defenders Aseri Raikiwasa and Nathan Batley have been called into the 23-man squad as cover for Giuffreda while star midfielder Nick O’Brien returns after missing the ANZAC Day match.
Forward Tom Whittlesea looms as the most logical replacement for Wundke, who strained his hamstring at training last week.

5 on the interchange bench so some-one else apart from Giuffreda is suspect. One weekend off did not seem to help us.

This is a game we need to win for a top 3 place. My thoughts a 18 point win. Our forward line worries me.

Wasnt a great game one quarter of footy won the game
No Wundke eagles arent straight enough going to goal
One way we went forward Bomber kicking the ball from the bounce in the centre Redden dropped handballed goal
After 3/4 time glenelg went home i think we kicked 6 goals and Macgregor and Ainger did some damage
Lots of improving to do

I didn't see the game. From the stats, looked like James Boyd had an unusually quiet night - did Glenelg put a tag on him?
Our forward line is a bit of a worry with Wundke injured. Only McGregor and Ainger look capable of kicking 3 plus goals. Whereas Nick Hayes, Poole, Rowland, Hall are getting possessions, they're not hitting the scoreboard and don't look like threatening forwards. We've got to find a couple more weapons beyond McGregor and Ainger if we're to go anywhere.
On a different note, watched the U16s first half at Woodville. Very entertaining and we've got a few very good youngsters coming through. Lukosius 193cm key forward (also rucks) catches the eye - takes a good grab with arms fully extended , like Paul Bullus. Also Armfield who played CHF 1st Q and FB 2nd Still no 198cm guys coming through.

Those two u named only kicked three in the last term or thats when they looked like starting
Forward line was down for three qurters
ruck men won the taps but glenelg run off with the ball
Back line made huge mistakes
The pup put in Gaffney was good

Good to get the win.
Seems very dark for league footy, especially in the pockets, think it may have taken a bit of getting used to for our blokes.

True but the back line mistakes resulted in goals to Glenelg
Umpires decisions could be called mistakes as well some of them
And glenelg going like a 50 metre or 100 metre sprinter cause at 3/4 time i think their tank was on empty or they had run home

It would be great to see more than the highlights as per the SANFL website. We actually looked good from the highlights.
What a rule that out of bounds. The pass that hit the behind post. OMG.

The out of bounds when kicking for goal is a bit tough I think. If a player is running towards 50 into a usually unguarded forward line and has a shot at goal which due to the shape of the ball could roll and bounce either for a goal or out of bounds it's a bit stiff to be pinged for it if it does end up going out.

The kick I am talking about is Jarrod after a mark, tried a a 15 m pass across goals , missed his target and the ball hit the behind post. Glenelg scored from the subsequent free kick. He would have been better kicking a point . Shocking skill effort but also a dumb rule that is only in sanfl.

Ah yes that one, again the oval shaped ball and its irregular bounce, had it bounced right instead of straight ahead its a point, or would it have been deliberate and free kick in front of goal, they never pay that one.

If anyone is to break the Magarey Medal 'hoodoo', it's not going to be Boyd - pleaded guilty and got a $200 fine and reprimand. That was for something only the camera must have picked up, because I haven't seen anyone talk about it.

Does a reprimand make you illegible? I don't think it is in AFL. example Nat Fyfe last year.

If you are found guilty of an offence you cannot win the Magarey (so I am led to believe, anyway)
