BIG comeback by former Eagles star

Rhett Biglands making a suprise comeback for the Eagles, albeit it in the reserves this weekend...

Only playing because the Eagles are decimated by injury, illness, suspension and possible AFL call ups...

States Rhett is only playing this weekend to help out the ressies, but hasn't ruled out a conmeback altogether...

He looks super fit, not surprised that he has put his hand up.

I think some fellow posters have thought he would come back .

See him at training each Wednesday night & he does all the fitness stuff with the rest of the squad, looks super fit, hopefully the knee will hold up.

He must be pretty confident about the knee to decide to come back and have a crack, he's had quite a long break, and probably figures he will be a long time retired, look forward to seeing him out there...wonder if he will front in 55?

Well he did front in number 55, played the whole game, spent some time down back and some up forward, kicked 2 goals but should have kicked 3 and got about a dozen hitouts around the ground....not bad for a bloke who hasnt played for a couple of years!

Not to mention he was clearly coaching the ruckman from full back in the first half

He looked quite thin - very fit!

Thought he did well in his first game; obviously down on running endurance but after watching those big Glenelg forwards Sellars, Kirkby, thought how handy to have Parry and Biglands playing part time ruck/keyforwardor back with Guihaus backing up. Still, early days.......

Probably what Smithy was referring to back at the club Saturday night when he said about how lucky he was to have him on the ground.
