Re: Tribunal
From our teams point of view, the Salter suspension is disappointing. Parry you would expect to come in this week for him or Grocke.

Re: Tribunal
Three weeks without Grocke will hurt. Probably the best start he's ever had to a season. A very dissapointing night's result at the tribunal

Re: Tribunal
Salter was dead unlucky,a fractionally late hip and shoulder bump (called a charge ),no facial contact and he cops a game.Oh well i guess we move on.

Re: Tribunal
I think Adam will be very disappointed with the tribunal's decision to suspend for 3 games! I admit I only saw the live version and not the televised action.....interesting how a similar incident in the AWFL only got 1 week! What do others think??? I agree that Salts is unlucky too

No doubt you would be aware that Justin Cicolella, Nick Salter and Adam Grocke faced the SANFL Tribunal last night charged with Striking, Charging and Striking respectively.
Should you not be aware of the results, they are as follows;
Cicolella – Not Guilty
Salter – Guilty, 1 week suspension
Grocke – Guilty, 3 weeks suspension
Following the Tribunal hearing, we have requested a meeting with the SANFL and its umpiring department in relation to defining the modern day ‘hip and shoulder’ to assess whether it is in fact still a legitimate part of the game at SANFL level.
Further, to add some context to the length of Adam Grocke’s suspension, we are advised by the SANFL that only 4 players have been suspended at League level for 3 or more matches since May 2004.
Although disappointed with the Tribunal decisions for Salter and Grocke, both players who formerly had unblemished records, have reluctantly accepted the findings and with the Club will move on to preparing the team for this weekend’s match against Glenelg.
Regards
Chris Davies
CEO

Re: Tribunal
Well done to the club for following up on the Salter case.
I was surprised it even got as far as the tribunal and wasn't thrown out before it got there, it looked like a fair bump which was possibly a bit late and probably deserved a free kick down field.
Intersting that it was classed as a charge...... compared to the charges Ben Schwarze put on a few blokes from behind a few years back and on a couple of occasions got off it was nothing

Re: Tribunal
I am really pleased that our CEO is willing to back the players publicly. I think it sends a great message to the team. Sounds like Davies is as staunch in his support of our players as my son tells me he was of his players out on the cricket field!! I really like the fact that it seems the Club is taking no sh*t!

Re: Tribunal
A tough break for the Eagles in more ways then one. Both the boys are playing good consistent footy. The team has developed some momentum. And, the next 3 games are potentially challenging encounters - Glenelg (looking for form, and with a point to prove with Godden). Central (our rivals) and the promising/ rising Redlegs. It will certainly test our depth and God's coaching abilities.

Re: Tribunal
Real shame to lose Grocke for 3 considering the way he's started.
Great to see the club taking it up with the SANFL too, not that it'll change anything.
Given they threw the book at Grocke, how the hell did whyman get off with a reprimand for clearly punching a guy already on the ground? Not happy.

Re: Tribunal
If that's the case, well done to Chris Davies not wanting to take any chances after the unfair treatment handed out to the Club by the tribunal earlier this season.carrots12 wrote:Have been informed that the Club got a lawyer involved with this one!

Re: Tribunal
The tribunal really worries me. The Monday after Grocke got reported (against WA) three tribunal members decided Grocke was guilty and gave him one match, of course the club had to plead not guilty as the frame by frame shots of the incident cleary showed Grockes eyes on the ball and his fist punching the ball. At the hearing on the Tuesday night the not guilty plea was upheld and rightly so. The question that has to be asked is how did three tribunal members GET IT SO WRONG in the first place!!!!!!!!!when they had video of the incident.Talk about three blind mice.l
