New players announced I got given wrong info
WWTFC IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE SIGNING OF TWO VICTORIAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS.
James Tsitas has come from Williamstown; where he has been since the start of 2020 in the pursuit of more VFL games after playing only 10 matches in 2019. He Co-Captained Geelong VFL in 2019, after being named the Geelong VFL B&F in 2017. He has played 92 games during his VFL career; and will commence training with WWTFC this Wednesday; his first game expected to be this Saturday against West Adelaide.
Luke Powell says “James is a quality player and an outstanding young man who we had been trying to get over from Victoria for the past couple of seasons. When the VFL was cancelled early last month, James reached out to us to see if there was an opportunity to come over to SA. James will add to an already strong midfield group and also brings with him great leadership qualities. James is eager to play this week and we are excited to see him in an Eagles guernsey”
The second player joining the Eagles is Sam Lowson. Sam has come over from Coburg Football Club; after playing 34 games with them. Lowson made a fast start to the 2019 season with 13 goals from the opening six games and was widely tipped to be an early selection in the mid year rookie draft – however a foot injury just before the draft sadly wrecked his chances.
Luke Powell says “Sam is another high-quality player from the VFL. Sam has been and continues to be a highly touted draft prospect and we see it as a great opportunity to provide Sam that avenue while also helping our Football Club. Again with the VFL cancelled for 2020 Sam was keen to play football somewhere this season and we are glad we are able to provide him with the chance to do so. Sam is only arriving in SA today so he is still a couple of weeks away from joining the team on the track. Our coaching staff and playing group is excited of the prospect of bringing two quality young men into our Club that we see the potential to be very long servants at the Eagles“
Please join us in welcoming both James and Sam to the Eagles Family.

Eagles’ recruiting coup
HIGH-FLYING Woodville-West Torrens has had its 2020 SANFL premiership odds slashed after winning the race for star VFL duo Sam Lowson and James Tsitas.
After a protracted battle, the Eagles on Saturday gained approval to bring highly-rated forward Sam Lowson to Adelaide amid Victoria’s coronavirus crisis.
The 24-year-old, who is still chasing his AFL draft dream, was due to arrive in Adelaide on Monday and joins tough VFL midfielder James Tsitas in crossing the border to strengthen the club’s premiership charge.
Lowson’s application for an exemption into SA was initially rejected by SA Health before being approved at 7.30am on Saturday – hours before the top-of-the-table Eagles’ home clash against Central District.
Both Eagles’ recruits were cleared to the SANFL before last Friday’s 5pm mid-year transfer deadline.
The gun recruits enhance an already powerful line-up, which has won five consecutive matches after losing to South Adelaide in Round 1.
“It’s an exciting time for our footy club,’’ new coach Jade Sheedy said.
“Getting these players over mid-season is not something you would normally do.
“But they are both great gets and it gives them an opportunity to play footy, which they have been denied in Victoria because of the virus (which shut the VFL down).
“They are players we have been trying to get to our footy club for some time, especially Tsitas, who we’ve been in talks with for a couple of years.
“He happened to ring us this time and it would have been silly if we had knocked him back.’’
Tsitas, a tough midfielder who once captained Geelong’s VFL team, finishes his 14-day quarantine period on Tuesday and Sheedy said he would join the club’s main training session on Wednesday.
Lowson, from Coburg, will be available to play in two weeks.
He was a strong contender to be drafted last year before suffering a serious ankle injury on the eve of the mid-season rookie draft and will add more goalkicking ability to the Eagles’ already potent attack.
“He’ll be available for the second half of the season for us, which is exciting,’’ Sheedy said.
Sturt unveiled VFL ruckman Darcy Bennett against Glenelg on Sunday, while small forward Jack Henderson – a VFL team-of-the-year member – played in the reserves.
“They are not our saviour by any stretch but they are good lads who give us some more positional depth,’’ Double Blues’ coach Nathan Grima said.
South Adelaide also has struck VFL gold, signing former Adelaide Crows’ ruckman Paul Hunter and wingman Daly Andrews.
North Adelaide has recruited Williamstown’s Kieren Parnell but failed in its bold push to sign former Power and Carlton AFL ruckman Matthew Lobbe from the VFL.
Lobbe, 31, who played 92 AFL games for Port, has decided to sit out the season.

James held the door open for me to walk into the club after the game, definitely seems like a good bloke.

Yes i do but was that a joke as if you watch the beginning of the sanfl coverage it doesn't mention about Milo as he was joking during the interview with Luke Thompson
