Thanks for the memories.
Being an old Torrens supporter I found myself cheering the boys on.
Great to see 'The Bandit' Payze & 'Hot Dog' Hodson sinking goals.
Even Morph was playing in the back line. The great #6 could play either end of the ground.
Also noticed a very excited Peter Wiles (Team Manager) on the bench.
Pete can still be seen helping out at Woodville Oval on match day.
Thanks 'The Guv' I might watch that again!!

No worries! I am quite interested in history in general and enjoy studying the history of the SANFL specifically in the 1970's and 1980's. I only ever saw one game of football with my Dad before he got sick and it was Torrens vs South somewhere around 1977! I think that is where the passion comes from some of those memories! I also love the West Torrens Guernsey of the 1970's for the same reason!

I've managed to obtain the stats for that game courtesy of John Storer's book on West Torrens Football Club 1945 - 1990.
It was Anzac Day Monday 25th April 1988.
Best players: Michael Long (Essendon champ) Payze, Lindsay(B), Clark, Taylor, Morphett & Spiel.
Scorers: Werner 4-2 (debut game) Hodson 4-0 Taylor 2-3 Lindsay (C) & Christensen 2-0 Payze 1-2 Harris 1-1 Clark & Foote 1-0 Lindsay (B) 0-1

Hodson and I went to school together .Hawthorn were chasing him at one stage.
Werner / foote/taylor went to the afl (I think they all did)Lindsay was a crow
Christensen was from geelong and then he coached the seconds I think

Beat me to it Mick it was Damien Christensen, brother of Marty, great Bloke the Moose (im sure Eagle014 will back me up on this point), coached the 2's to the 2000 Flag before heading back to Victoria.
Great video that have seen in a few times now, would be great if there was some more out there.
